Pandora tries to throw in live versions of my favorite songs, but I always thumb them down because I like the way it sounds from the studio. A friend of mine always wants to hear the live version.
Which do you prefer?

I don't really have a preference, but I sometimes get thrown off when they change the arrangements on live versions and I can't sing along

studio unless I'm at the concert! I don't need to hear cheering or the crowd singing along, just the song

@LuLu Mom: agreed! And I think when you're at the concert, you get a real high from everyone there and the energy and everything that just doesn't transfer through the live "version" of the song. So then it just sounds like a poorly recorded version. To me anyway.

Ugh, I really dislike the live versions.
@LuLu Mom: @.twist.: Agree - the cheering and crowd just sound bad

Radio. Because I want to sing along with my awesome voice skillz. Duh.

Studio version. Artists sound better with engineering and production.

It depends on the song. Most I like studio versions, but there are a few that I've heard in concert that I looooove!
Jimmy Buffett's cover of Southern Cross was so good in concert that's the only version I want to listen to.
There's also a Pearl Jam cover of Dock of the Bay that I just love. Other than that, mostly I like the clean sounding studio stuff.

It depends. There are some bands/artists that I prefer to listen to live, but for the most part I prefer the studio versions.

When I listened to secular music I almost always preferred studio. Now I listen to only praise & worship and I looooove live versions! Their voices always sound the same (sometimes even better) and I love how much more the songs resonate!
