Glasses are easier, but contacts are nice too. I wish I could get lasik someday.

I have terrible vision (-11 and -10.5) so I hate wearing glasses because they're so thick, even shaved down, that they contort my eyes and make them look small/weird. Plus, they give me a headache if I wear them for an extended amount of time, and my vision isn't as crisp due to power differences. I wish I could get lasik. =(

I like how I look wearing my glasses plus I hate putting contacts in because I hate touching my eyes. I hope to get lasik sometime in the next few years though (although I may keep my glasses to wear sometimes just because).

Glasses. Contacts weren't very comfortable. I'd love to get Laski at some point, for me and for DH.

i wear contacts during the day and at night when i get home i wear my glasses to let my eyeballs "breathe"....

I go back and forth. I mostly prefer contacts but sometimes my eyes need a rest. Also I wear glasses during work hours because I have to get up really early and I don't feel like sticking something in my eye at 5:30 am, haha. Or doing much of anything for that matter...

I preferred glasses because contacts dried my eyes out but greatly preferred how I looked in contacts. I got lasik this summer and it was the best.decision.ever! Loving not having to worry about contacts/glasses/solution anymore.

@Alivoo01 - You just described my eyes! I'm -9.5 and -8.5 in contacts but much worse in glasses.

6 months ago I would have said my glasses because I had a hard time with contacts but I switched to the 30 day/night brand so I can keep them in all the time. I do take them out on Sundays to let my eyes breath but besides that I now prefer my contacts.

@Alivoo01: I'm with you. I'm -11.5 in both eyes and my glasses weigh a ton even thinned out. Contacts are way more comfy.

I guess I prefer my contacts, but on weekends or days when I don't have to go anywhere, I find I stay in glasses.

@LindsayInNYC: @ValentineMommy: I wish technology would advance for us so that there's an alternative solution other than permanent contacts for us since lasik isn't an option!

I prefer contacts, they make me feel put together. However I can count on one hand the times I've put them in since pregnant. Lazyyyyyy bonesssss.

@Alivoo01 @ValentineMommy - Agreed. I haven't even attempted a consultation since I know I won't be a candidate yet. DH has (not as) bad eyes and he went a couple years ago for a consultation. Apparently there's some random condition that can prevent you from getting lasik and it showed up for him. It's a maybe you'll get it, maybe you won't gamble though which is annoying. He can only wear contacts for limited time since he got back from Iraq. How stinky! =/

I actually really like the way I look with glasses, but prefer contacts for ease of use. I have to say the main reason I avoid glasses is that I have NO bridge (flat asian nose) and cannot wear the styles I truly like, such as the cool plastic lenses out there. I have to wear nosepads and it so depressing how that limits your options.

I actually use both, I've worn glasses for about 20+ years now, but i generally end up wearing contacts for the most part since i can't drive with glasses (My Peripheral vision SUCKS!!!)

@anonysquire: Word to your mother on that:)
I feel like I see so much better with my contacts and I hate having to deal with my glasses-fogging when I come inside, sliding down.

@Beetones: I haven't even though about how long I have worn glasses. I got them in the first grade so that would be about 23 years or so.

Contacts but they are so expensive because of my problem probe eyes that I never wear them and only wear glasses. I will get LASIK in a few years hopefully
pomegranate / 3331 posts
@MrsCastro: i do the same. by the end of the day my contacts start to move around my eyes a little...and they are daily disposables so i pull them out. i don't really need my glasses at home unless i'm watching a movie or game or something. but i do put them on if we're going out.

Definitely contacts. I hate how glasses feel on my nose and dig into my ears, even when they fit perfectly.

I tried contacts but didn't like it. I tried about 3 different brands. My prescription is so minimal that glasses does the trick.

I like wearing my glasses at home, but if I am out (especially during the day) I like to wear my contacts so that I can wear my sunglasses.

I like contacts more, but I love the pair of glasses that I currently have.

I prefer contacts but lately I have been too lazy. I have just been wearing my glasses. I want lasik soon though! It isn't as expensive as I thought! (Though still not cheap)

I've never had contacts, I'm scared of putting things in my eyes. I'll stick to glasses. I feel like I'm me with glasses anyway.

@Alivoo01: @LindsayInNYC: I've had several consultations and am always told the same thing - no way. I have other complications as well (my retinas detached so they don't want the pressure on my eyes either), and the only "helpful" thing I've ever heard is that there is a procedure that could help me in Europe that is not yet approved here. It was described to me essentially as permanent contacts. Supposedly it will be approved here within a few years.....
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
@ValentineMommy: @LindsayInNYC: I was informed of the permanent contacts a few years ago by my optometrist. I wonder if it the same thing or something more advanced is going in Europe. The procedure I was informed about previously was, they cut a small slit in your cornea, insert the contact, then seal you back up.

Glasses are easier, and I can't stand contacts during allergy seasons, which for me is March through late October/November. But, now that DS is getting grabby, contacts could be nicer!

i only need glasses for reading/computer work, so no sense in contacts for me.

@Alivoo01 @ValentineMommy - Ooh, I had not heard about such a thing! That gives me hope for *one day*!

Contacts! I hate wearing glasses, they make me tired and I don't feel as if I can see as well (I just got them last year, so they are not old/outdated)
