I do! Not all the time, but if someone gives me something that I know is perfect for a different person, I'll regift it.

I do! But only if I really believe the other person will like it. Or I use them for yankee swap gifts.

Yes, definitely! Like you say, only if it seems like the right gift. But I hate things sitting around going to waste if I won’t use them!

For me it depends on the gift. If I feel like someone really took time to pick me out a gift, I feel bad giving it away even if it’s not exactly what I want. But if it’s something that doesn’t seem like it was picked out too carefully or intended to be too personal (eg getting one of the same gift for every member of a group) than I have no problem regifting it.

Not usually to another person I know, but I belong to a local “buy nothing” type of Facebook group so I’ll give gifts away on there if I know I’ll never use them.

@LadyDi: I'm also in a Buy Nothing group and will regift there. Right now it's flooded with teachers giving away the stuff they got yesterday.

We do. We have a whole drawer of olive oil
Sets candy candles soaps lotions etc that we grab and go if we need a small gift for someone!

I do if it is something i know I won’t use. I have a basket downstairs of stuff. If I can’t find the right person or opportunity to regift it I’ll donate the item eventually. I did pull something out for a white elephant exchange recently.
@Corduroy: This is why I have cash and the teachers favorite candy at daycare this year. All my teacher friends say gift cards are the best gifts.

No. We don’t get a lot of gifts (basically only from our parents) so it’s usually good. I would regift red wine though.

I have definitely regifted in the past, but only if I think the recipient will actually like the gift.
Funny regifting story:
I recently had some colleagues visit to meet my newborn DS. They all brought gifts, which was lovely, but not expected.
One woman gave me (him) a sweater that is size 2T. I would have just kept it for when he was older, but DH vetoed it since it looked like it was probably from the Girls section of Baby Gap. I happen to know that this woman has a 20 month old granddaughter, so I figured it was something that was bought/received for her. Sure enough, there was a gift receipt from Feb. of this year; the sweater was purchased before I even knew I was pregnant with DS! Clearly a regift!!!
Anyway, I just gave it away on a local FB buy nothing group :).

I regularly give gifts to buy nothing. A lot of people buy us gifts that don't know our children well. Before they open it, I sneak it out. Currently I'm sneaking out a bongo drum set (not real ones, a loud VTech style toy).
I don't get a lot of gifts, but gifts are not DH's skill set. Of the 4 gifts he got me, two will be heading home with my sister.

@MLE81: lol! I think baby and kid gifts are definitely the category I regift the most. Clothes, baby gear, or toys that I don’t need or like are all contenders for the next birthday party or baby shower. Though for showers, always in addition to something from the registry.

100%! I regift, sell, return, and donate presents without a lick of guilt.
The segment of my family that we spend Christmas Eve with is great for this. The past several years, we have had a white elephant exchange among all of the adults, with the only parameter being that we are not allowed to purchase anything. It is a terrific opportunity for regifting perfectly nice things that are just not a good fit for our household (*cough* teacher gifts *cough*). This year, I am wrapping up a nice Target throw from my Secret Santa (not colors that are in our household, and we already have a lot of throw blankets), and a whole box of coffee mugs (some still in their packaging!).

Thoughtfully so! I also love my local buy nothing group and make good use of it.

I do but thoughtfully. Like when we got two of the same game for a bday, I used it for a friend bday present. And baby things I would include with a registry gift.

I have no problem to admit that I do! But I agree with others, I don't re-gift really lame gifts that no one wants; it's usually if I really don't need it, or think it would be a great gift for someone else.
