I tend to prefer non fiction... although I also read a lot of detective novels, although I'm not sure that really counts as fiction.

i prefer fiction! it's leisurely and relaxing to me. reading non-fiction feels like a chore, like something i "should" do to stimulate my brain. fiction feels like it's taking me to a different world.

Fiction & creative non-fiction (memoir).
Non-fiction has to be really, really good, like Malcolm Gladwell's books or The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. I find most non-fiction to be a snooze fest.

Non-fiction for sure! I almost never read fiction, which is why I'm not in any book clubs. They usually pick fiction.

Fiction, I like to be transported into a different world when reading.

fiction. I'll even put it out there that young adult novels (think Divergent, Matched, Mortal Instruments, Hunger Games type books) are my guilty pleasure.

Fiction. I almost never read non-fiction unless I need to. I mainly read YA fiction!

Nonfiction. I read so much fiction as a child that I find it hard to get sucked in anymore, plus there are just so many things I want to know about the world.

Nonfiction, but primarily for my research in my academic field. I rarely read for fun anymore because I have to read so much otherwise!
