HAHA. We usually just read one to her. She's still young though.

We read him 3 as well. He used to push for more than that and pick really long books like the dr seuss ones. So now it's a firm 3. I think my husband may have knocked it down to 2 now. The 'one more, one more' bit was getting out of hand.

@mrbee: Do you still camp out in his room every night? Our son has been a horrible sleeper this past week - waking up in the middle of the night. The last two nights, he started yelling for us an hour after putting him in bed. I just walk in plop myself on the floor and sleep alongside his bed. We have no idea how to fix his sleep issues.

i read about 3 books. it all depends on how much time we have that night. sometimes more, sometimes less but when i tell the DD that it is time for bed, she knows i means business and goes to sleep.

We haven't read to her at night in a long time because hearing my voice just makes her alert and she thinks it's play time!

Just one, but we put him in the crib and we're out of the room.

We do one at naptime and one at bedtime; I figure once DS gets old enough we'll let each of them pick a book for bedtime, instead of just DD.

@mrbee: LO is 10 weeks so the books are just for the bedtime routine right now. We usually do 3 books, but last night DH picked a loooong book so we did 2. I joked that we need to remember to never pick that one when she's older!

She's still pretty young (9 months), but we do about 10 minutes. Since her books are super short, that's more than enough books (usually 4-5).
