The AAP now recommends children rear face until they're 2. But since Charlie rarely rides a car, it is really hard to rear face him since we can't see him and he gets really antsy. Plus we have two kids in car seats so both kids are in the back in car seats without much room for one of us to sit in between them.

So Charlie faces forward and he is much happier when he can see out the window and see where we're going. Perhaps if we drove a car everyday and he were used to sitting in a car seat we'd try to keep him rear facing, but for our occasional car rides he faces forward.

Does your 1 year+ toddler face rear or forward?
