I have to a couple of friends (who I trust, of course!) What about you?

I haven't... But I share all the things I learn from HB to them and have asked things on their behalf!

I have told a couple friends about it once they either got pregnant, or had a baby. I love the Bee!

I did in when I first joined, but not since I have shared stuff that I haven't IRL.

I've told 2 people about it and both still swear by babycenter (I just don't get it...) Everyone else I know in person doesn't really do the online chat thing.

Sometimes I'd talk about the Dec '14 moms/babies and people would be like "how do you know so many ppl with the same birth month babies?!" I'm like uh...

@snowjewelz: hahaha. Yes. I have this problem, too. Explaining my online friends to my family is so awkward. I had a Hellobee friend come meet me at my parents house this summer and I still don't think they really understand how I met her.

@mediagirl: that's awesome! i really hope to meet someone someday!

Yes, and one signed up and made ONE post. But otherwise people haven't taken me up on the recommendation.

No, I want to keep this my own private place where I can talk about my boobs and periods and stuff without real life people seeing it!

I told my sister and cousin since I tell them everything/anything I would post anyway. They're not into online chat room type stuff so they haven't joined. I mainly told them because it's easier to explain where I "heard" something from. Ex: "I heard that magna-tiles are awesome so I'm going to get them for DD's birthday". "The Zany zoo is pretty popular among kids that age..." "Ive heard of people getting a false negative when they test too early, try tomorrow with FMU..."

I've told a handful of friends, none have signed up, but a couple will read posts on the blog

A friend just announced she is pregnant so I should recommend it to her but I'm not sure if she will be into it. My DH used to laugh when I talked about the Bees while wedding planning but he sees how helpful it is now with the baby.

I occasionally send links to blog articles or threads that are relevant to a problem/question a friend has, but I don't recommend that they join. I kinda like that it is separate from my friend/family network.

I've sent a friend considering adoption a few posts, but generally my friends aren't into forums. I have also only told my sister and 2 SILs that I blog here... It's weird to me to broadcast that IRL although clearly it's there for the whole internet to see...
blogger / honeydew / 7081 posts
Friends know I blog here, but none of them are into forums at all.

I've told one person, my SIL a few years ago. She posted for a little while and then stopped. I actually saw her post on a due date board and that's how I found out she was pregnant! I probably won't recommend it again, just to keep my small bit of online privacy.

I prefer to keep this part of my life private from people I know IRL! To my husband I just call it "the forums".

@mediagirl: @snowjewelz: i always say "my friend" and then people ask how i know people that live in canada or east coast or PNW or whatever. ha.
grapefruit / 4355 posts
I will mention them on occasion but I don't specifically tried to lead people here. It is kind of nice having an arena that is private from people I know IRL where I can talk about more private things.
@mrsrain: they are "the baby boards" to my husband!

I mentioned to a couple mom friends but no one is into forums! They read the guides and such I send them regularly
@birdofafeather: lol been there done that! And we have ppl we know irl in common, it's a bizarre and sweet thing we have going on
cantaloupe / 6171 posts
I told someone about the blog once because she was asking me about what blogs I read (and ttc questions in general), but I didn't mention the boards...I feel like they're my secret place, haha

I've been pretty good with understanding that someone IRL might find me and recognize me. Also, I try not to say bad things about people in my life, but I don't tell people about HB because it's my own secret online forum. I like being somewhat anonymous. Now friends I've met through this site and others are different, but IRL friends seeing my online persona might completely freak or weird them out. Haha. It takes a little while to feel comfortable posting for a newbie but for a newbie to see someone with 14k in posts is...
I have recommended/suggested friends join by the HB invite thingy, but realized that they might come to the site and look for me and see how much I post. We all know that this online forum is normal for us but for some people it's weird.
I could start suggesting the site by mentioning that I READ this blog and a bunch of other parenting sites but never mention that I frequent the boards.

@birdofafeather: I say 'my friends', too. Luckily, no one has asked me why I know people from different parts of the country.

I have to many people that I know have/had IF that is how I found the Bee and it helped me so much!
I love the Bee!!!!

@Bluemasonjar: DH when we have a question with DD will say why don't you ask those girls on that chat thing.... Lol

Same as @twodoghouse I like to keep HB my little place I can go and talk and share about things I might not normally share with my social circle and family. I love HB. I have told a few friends about but I love having my own little place to go

I tell lots of people but no one seems too interested in forums. That's fine, I like my HB family
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
I've recommended it to a couple of my friends, and one of them even joined!
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
I mentioned it to my BFF and I think she reads on here occasionally, but doesn't post. I didn't tell anyone else though. I kinda like how this is "my" lil place.
