I got mine in 2nd grade and same as @Jess1483 the first thing I said to my mom was something about the trees having leaves and the grass having blades!

Getting glasses had a good impact on my learning because I couldn't see the board at all before and didn't really realize that was a problem because I was little. I do remember it being hard to adjust to such clear vision, but I think every new glasses wearer probably goes through that.

I dont remember life before glasses. I was 6

like PPs, i was shocked to discover that i could read the sign across the street once i got glasses. like legit shocked. i always wondered why i was the only one to go up to the front of the class when the teacher was using the projector.... i was in HS.

I failed a routine vision screening my freshman year of HS, told my parents at dinner that night and probably a week and a half later I had glasses.
Absolutely amazing when the optician put them on me, everything in his office came into instant focus and when I went outside It was astounding! First of all everything was brighter and the colors were more vibrant! The trees and lawns had individual leaves and actual blades of grass, plants across the street had flowers, I could see peoples faces across the parking lot, read from a distance, buildings actually had sharp corners to them and a lot more definition to them and to the dismay of my mom I told her she looked older! ouch!

Yeah. I didn't have to cheat on the eye exams they gave at school anymore!

totes the leaves thing!!! I remember it clearly. I got glasses when I was 14. I also was hugely into wakeboarding then, and I remember the first time I wakeboarded with contacts in I was like....wow, so that's what the lake, the land in the distance, and the boat look like! It had all been a massive blur before. My performance at school imporved almost immediately.

I got mine in high school because I failed the vision part of the physical in preparation for soccer season. Honestly, I really didn't notice much change. But my vision has definitely gotten worse since then and the world is blurry if I don't have my contacts in.

Yes! I got my first pain in college though. I really didn't know what I was missing. Even with a lower prescription It made a world of difference. The biggest thing was seeing the details of leaves on trees that I never really saw before when driving. Also, having gone to disneyland a ton I remember being on pirates of the caribbean and seeing all these things I never noticed before.

Leaves on the trees and the little tiny branches during winter. Amazing. Everything so crisp and clear. Every time I bump up my prescription, it excites me again
