After Bee gave birth to our daughter, I gave her this whole heartfelt speech about how amazing she was and how incredible it was that she had given birth. I recently asked her about it, and she said she had no recollection of me saying anything! But she actually doesn't remember much about either childbirth or the time immediately postpartum... she says it's all just a huge blur to her!
Do you remember much about the first few hours postpartum?

I do actually! My DH didn't say anything too memorable to me haha...or, maybe he did? I should ask

I remember everything! I was exhausted and didn't know what to expect body wise, but I remember everything that happened. Getting out of bed to use the restroom for the first time once the epidural wore off was ROUGH.

Mostly with my 2nd yes, but hardly anything with my 1st...I kept blacking out!

I think I remember most things but length of time is a total blur. Like I thought we had skin to skin in a quiet room for at least an hour, and Dh says t was like 15 minutes. I think it was probably somewhere in between.
@Boopers: I remember the first trip to the bathroom. No epidural so it was right after they took the baby to do her tests and stuff and the nurse helped carry the gigantic bed pad under me. Hot stuff.

I passed while they were stitching me up (c-section) and was in and out of sleep for the next two hours while I was in recovery (separated from my babies). The rest of the day was foggy. I still don't remember seeing either of my BILs that day, but there are pictures!

@Foodnerd81: I had zero ab strength and couldn't lift my upper body up to even get out of bed! Then the first time I went to the bathroom I didn't realize that I would have no bladder control!! I was so unprepared to be postpartum

I remember the first hour or so okay (birth, skin to skin, nursing, her tests, getting my year stitched up, midwife pushing on my uterus), but after that it's pretty blurry. They insisted I get up and try to go to the bathroom.. I wasn't ready. I passed out. I have a history of fainting, so it wasn't surprising. But it was frustrating how worried they all were, when I knew nothing was wrong--I just hadn't been ready to get up after losing so much blood.

I remember everything! Once I was all stitched up my mom and sister left to get food. The nurses also left us alone for an hour of bonding time. We spent a couple more hours in L&D as I needed some extra blood pressure monitoring before being moved to a recovery room.

I totally remember both times. The second time more vividly though. Likely just because that was the most recent birth

I remember I was so exhausted I could barely keep my eyes open. DH fed me breakfast while I fed DD for the first time. When they took us up to the recovery room all 3 of us had a nap.

I had some major bleeding. Hemorrhage? Anywho I vividly remember standing in the bathroom while the nurses undressed me and wiped all the blood off while watching other nurses change the bedding and mop all the blood off the floor very efficiently.
I also had a milkshake.

Haha a speech! Sorry but that's hilarious! I remember being head over heels in love with my kids, wanting to eat the entire world and being so high off birth vibes that I couldn't sleep.

@mrbee: I only laugh because I might have still wanted to rip my husbands head off right after the babies came out. So if he had a little speech I might have thrown a couple good eye rolls. Very caring of you though haha!!!

I think I went into shock so my memories are vivid but they are just snippits of what happened.

It's pretty blurry. I remember some things but DH recently told me the story in a different way than I remember. I also don't remember holding DS before DH on the operating table after my c section. I remember seeing DH holding him and I thought the first time I got him was in the recovery room when they gave him to me to breastfeed. DH has since told me otherwise.

Yes and it was horrible. Just stitches and trying to get the baby to nurse until I said get him off of me!!!!!!
Wayyyyy too many people touch every part of my body at once, lol.

Almost nothing! I had a pretty bad hemorrhage and was kept on Pitocin and an epidural for a long time after. I know I was exhausted but so pumped that I couldn't sleep, but that's it. Also that they wouldn't let me eat anything
