My computer mouse just stopped working this evening, so I flipped it over to take the little ball out and clean the mouse out. To my surprise, it was a laser mouse! And by surprise, I mean that I was mostly surprised at how dumb I am sometimes.
Do you remember when computer mice had balls inside of them? Did you ever blow the dust out of them, Nintendo cartridge style?

yes! once in middle school, a couple stooopid guys stole all the little mice balls out of the computer lab mice. i think they were later anonymously returned. and this is why i'd NEVER teach middle school

yes i totally remember that..sooo annoying when it got cracker crumbs in there. not that i ever ate near the computer since that was a huge no-no..especially not when i got home from school hours before my parents got home from work.

@Andrea: Haha my mouse isn't wireless. The wireless mice were always running out of batteries for me, and it drove me nuts!

Yes! Students liked to steal the balls out of the mice in the computer labs. So annoying. (And I totally teach middle school-@Mrs. Cowgirl)

I remember this. We used to get bored so we'd flip our mice over and see who could navigate the screen faster by actually rolling the ball.
@mrbee: I plan on doing this to one of my coworkers this year on April Fool's day... I don't know if she'll think to flip it or not.

hahaha yeah I do. But since I was 18 I've had my own laptop and never used a mouse. I'm a master of the trac pad! I can even photoshop edit with it!

Haha, yup, sometimes when my mouse sticks, which is actually my computer being stupid, I still pick it up and shake it expecting to loose the ball.

OMG every once and a while at work I get stuck using the old computer with the mouse ball, hehe. Drives me bonkers!
