Someone mentioned that these days, most library rentals are for DVDs. That was a real surprise to me!

I used to for the kids I nannied...but not recently. They were free at the library we went to though, which was awesome since they included new releases!

I've only rented some kids DVDs. But yeah, you can also search their database online and reserve the movie you want - they'll have it sent to your local branch when it becomes available. It's great!

Yes, it's how I got caught up on the first season of True Blood! Our library also has a reservation list for both books and DVDs, so you can get on a waiting list for new releases.

Yep, all the time. I work at a large academic library though, so we have several thousand movies & tv shows on dvd + blu-ray. It's awesome!

yup! not often though... I rented 30 day shred from the library to see if I want to buy it.
sometimes I'll stop in and see if they have anything interesting, but there is a small selection unless you specifically request a DVD to be delivered from one library location to our location. But it's free for a week

When I was a kid, we did all the time. Free is better than the $5 rental at blockbuster!
