My SIL says she has about 3 boxes of books in her garage that she rotates out every few months.
Do you do this?

I do but only b/c her books are on built-in shelves in her closet as opposed to a bookshelf in the room. So I take out a bunch at a time to change things up.

No. Most of our children's books fit on the bookshelf, and the kids just take whatever they want.

If by "rotate" you mean "hide certain books under the couch", then, yes, we rotate!

No rotating here. It would cause big problems with my two year old. Although from time to time books disappear under the couch.

No, I like the girls to have access to as many books as they'd like. I do rotate the books between rooms though - both DDs only have a basket of books in their rooms, whereas they have a bookshelf full in the playroom.
I do have a large box of books put away though for when they're just a little bit older (ie 3-4 yrs old). I don't have them out now as I think they're just a bit long for my DDs and I don't want them destroyed before they can actually have an opportunity to enjoy them, if that makes sense.
