I don't know when I started doing this, but I always say "please" when I ask DH to do something for me.
just now..
DH: Hey! Your show's on!
Me: Turn the TV on, please!

@artbee: Maybe I started saying please so my demands would sound nicer? haha.

Honestly? Not always. Maybe half the time...usually when it's something more than a usual thing. I try to always say thank you though.

One day Little Jacks was telling herself to sit down when she was standing on a chair and I heard her say, "Lala, sit down!" I realized that sometimes I don't say please to her... Ever since then, Mr Jacks and I always make sure to say please for every request. Now I hear her command herself with the "Please" and it makes me happy!

I try to say it all the time, and make sure to say thank you. However, if it's something I have asked him to do 5 times over the course of 2 days and it's still not done it gets a little hard. lol. I just try to be respectful since he is my partner and he is doing a lot to help with the new LO.

I say please and thank you all the time. It was really emphasized to me growing up. DH's family is not really big on niceties, and so he doesn't say please unless he is really trying to get me to do something, and he only says thank you if he is truly appreciative, not just as routine. I really want DH to get more in the habit before we have kids, so I often remind him, "Can you say please?" He probably feels like a kid himself but he is getting better!

yes always. and i find it weird when kids just ask for things in rude way and say "give me a cookie" instead of "may i please have a cookie." my nephew who is only 3 will always just bark commands at me and say "give me candy" and I just raise my eyebrows and say no. lol

Yes, but sometimes it's an after thought and maybe a little delayed. I always say thank you though, if he gets up to get me a glass of water or what not, just so he knows I do appreciate it.
