I need to bring *something* to Thanksgiving. What is your go-to "I-have-to-make-this-each-Thanksgiving" recipe? I am hoping this will help others who are stuck like me? Doesn't matter if it is a side dish, main course, dessert, etc.

We had a friendsgiving last weekend; and I made none of these but thought they were good/seemed easy enough to transport -
- Creamed spinach; person just brought the whole pot
- Corn bread
- Mini pumpkin pies made like cupcakes almost so easy bite size!

I feel like it’s so old school midwestern but I MUST have green bean casserole. Not a healthy or gourmet version. The classic canned green beans, mushroom soup, french’s onions one. Anything else is just so disappointing. I’m not sure if it would be very popular though if people aren’t familiar with it. It looks pretty gross

I have more than one, have to have.. on my plate there must be:
turkey
mashed pot's
sweet pot casserole
scalloped corn
MIL's stuffing
gravy
grama's sweet roll
I can take or leave everything else but those are the must have's!

@SweetiePie: same for me lol I love classic green bean casserole!
Also, stuffing/dressing. I prefer cornbread stuffing (um, that wasn't actually stuffed in the bird though) but any type will do as long as its smothered in gravy

@SweetiePie: Yaassss...it *must* be the can of mushroom soup with fried onion version! A good friend of mine (who's a chef) was talking about making it from scratch.. and I was like, "Nope! I only like it from a can!"

I make something like this but with frozen corn and whipping cream instead of creamed corn in a can. I never ever have left overs.

Apple pie
Homemade bread (focaccia is a good choice and hard to mess up unless you forget the salt) https://www.handletheheat.com/focaccia-bread/
Spinach Stuffing (I don't know where my mom got the recipe but this is similar. Hers adds almond slivers)

@LadyDi: I was going to say- Ina’s Mac and cheese is hands down the best. It takes a little while to make (younreally do have to shred the cheese yourself, no preshredded) but it’s not hard, it would travel reasonable distances just fine, and it’s just so good. And you can make ahead and just bake it when needed.

But for my actual must haves- turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry. There are lots of other Wants, but I need these.
