We have a farmer's market right down the street from me weekly. I finally went for the first time and spent way more money than I wanted to! I was stocking up on new fruits and veggies to make for LO.... and of course got some things for myself and my husband. Not to mention a $10 thing of fish spread. I can't pass up fish spread!
Do you shop at farmer's markets? Do you end up going overboard there too?

No, not recently. I actually don't know where one locally is. Also, if I stay away from them, it prevents me from overspending. I try to stay away from malls for that same reason.

In the summer/fall there are farmers markets on the weekends and sometimes I'll go and buy lots of fruit. So yummy.

Yup - love the farmer's market. We go weekly for salad greens, eggs, some meat and fresh cheeses and yogurt, as well as in season veggies and fruit. Fresh farmer's market stuff tastes so much better than whats at the grocery store. The eggs are great - so much tastier than grocery store eggs, even the expensive organic kind (which I still don't trust to be that humane).

We try to, it's much easier to do so in the spring/summer/fall---wintertime, the markets are pretty bare bones.

The good ones around us are a little too far away to be convenient weekly, but we do visit once in a while in the summer. We're also members of a CSA, though, so we can get farm fresh veggies year round.

We don't have a local one, but we do have a year round produce stand that sells local fruits and veggies at great prices. I never leave there for under $30 ;\ At least it's healthy!

We're members of a CSA year round but not too much farmers markets wise here in the winter. In the summer the majority of our food is from CSA or farmers markets.

Yep! There is a farmer's market near our apartment twice a week and another one near the office once a week. I have a hard time going overboard on certain days as well. We have a stand that sells incredibly delicious lox. I can eat a pack by myself in one sitting!!

I used to a lot when I lived on the central coast of California. They have a really large weekly farmers market that is awesome. I miss it. Where I live now, there are mostly little stands set up on the side of the road. I don't ever stop at one though.

I live near a lot of farms, so I can just go to the farm and buy what I might be interested in.
It's a different way of life, that's for sure, but I feel really good about supporting the local farmers.

Yup we have one right down the street that's open weekly and a few others in the area. In the summer time we also have road side stands with fresh produce.

Only in the summer/fall months. I go every Saturday and stock up on veggies, breads, jams, and other delicious stuff. I also get crafty items there as well, all my door signs come from this one lady who makes them for a very good price!

We live in California and have great year-round farmer's markets, so yes, we do shop at them. When we used to live in New England we did a CSA for the summer months, and I really enjoyed that too... it forced me to try out all kinds of veggies that I normally wouldn't buy.

We have one in town but it shuts down for a few mos out of the year. (winter) I am Sooooo ready for it to open again.

yes i love them! ours is a 15 minute walk away so we don't go that often, since we usually walk with charlie which makes it a 30 min+ walk. but summer peaches and radishes are my fave!

I don't go regularly but I really should. the closest one to me is every thursday and less than a 10 min walk away but on the weekends there's a much larger one about a 15 min walk away. I read it's the best place to get organic milk. I'm also thinking of joining a CSA soon.

Yes we do. But I like them much more in the summer months. There aren't a lot of vendors over the winter. And we do always get a boat load of stuff there because everything looks so good!

There is one downtown that I'll go to in the summer. Their fruit and veggie prices are the same as the grocery store sometimes. My big pitfall is there is always a bakery there that I adore and I always need up blowing my budget on amazing breads. They're delicious but too expensive.

Yup, we try to but currently the ones locally (tho there are a ton) are not very convenient. But at the new house there would be one very nearby.
And we also belong to a CSA.
