haha -- i'm sorry, but your description of LO made me laugh out loud - poor thing nursing and looking scared at the water!

I keep wanting to bring LO in the shower with me but haven't yet - we did once with DH and he hated it - he screamed... i think the water was too hot, or he was scared, he really didn't like it.

that was a few weeks ago though, I should try again --- but you bring up a good point, If i'm holding him he'll probably just want to nurse!

No. DS still hates it at 2 years old. He wants to be in control of the water touching him and refuses to calm down when it is "splashed" on him. He does baby water safety this summer so we are really hoping that will help.

yes. i just started a few weeks ago, for when i really need to take a shower and he needs to be cleaned. he loves to sit on the floor of the tub and have the water spray down on him. or i'll put him under the shower head while holding him and he laughs

I haven't yet! I don't know, she really loves her baths so I keep that as her special time and I just shower alone!

Yes, we shower together all the time and he loves it! He acts all jittery at first but then after a min he gets excited and tries licking up the water and kicking around.

No..... but I only try when we're on vacation and don't have another option, so it might be different in our own house.

Every day! I discovered we could do it when he was 7ish weeks and we were in a hotel and he needed a good cleansing. He was making "Mmmmm" noises and seemed to really like it so we started showering with him all the time! Usually I put him in the floor with toys and he splashes around until I'm ready to give him a wash. Makes getting ready so much easier

No! My water loving totally fearless 19 month old is terrified of taking a shower. I have no idea why! She'd take three baths a day if I let her.

Yep, we shower together pretty much every night! She is 7 months old and has loved in since she was a few weeks old. Sometimes I do bath her and DS together, but he is rowdy in the bath, so he baths and DD and I will shower.

Only once on vacation in a hotel. It was a mess. He was 2.5 months old and I was terrified I was going to drop him and he kept trying to latch on haha

DD still hates showering at almost three; she doesn't like water on her face. DS is fine with it, but I usually shower while he's asleep because I like my showers extra hot.

I have with my second and now my third babies. They both loved it form a pretty young age. My second especially loved being in the shower and being in the bathroom with the noise of the shower.

@photojane:It is easiest if DH is home for you to pass the baby out to. Dh usually has a towel wide open in his arms and takes DD and dries her, dresses, ets. It gives me a chance to get cleaned off myself.

I've showered with her 2 or 3 times and she didn't mind it, but she was slippery! I prefer to give her a bath since she enjoys them so much.

Awww... poor baby! But your description is priceless!
The nurse that wheeled me out at the hospital told us to try showering with baby and that her DH did with all 3 of their kids and they loved it!
I still can't even think about it at 1 month old. I have a hard enough time keeping her head up and stable in the baby bath, with a sling! Forget how worried I'd be standing in a slippery shower!

@sera_87: Good idea for toys and stuff, but how does it prevent drowning? We were told a LO (even 3 year old) could drown in a bucket of water with just a couple inches of water!

@78h2o: That's a nice set-up! Both our bathrooms are tub/shower combos, not as nice and spacious for the baby tub + adult. And I remember showering with my mom as a toddler too and I loved my shower hat thing. But never cool enough to have an umbrella in there!

I've never tried but DD isn't a fan of loud running water so I'm going to guess she would have the same reaction as your DS!
