We were looking forward to a birthday party yesterday but LO's temp was at 102 just a few hours before the party! boo! I felt bad but we cancelled last minute. I wouldn't want to get the birthday boy or other kids sick!

Yes, I figure they wouldn't want us there anyway. I know I don't want people around my LO if they're sick!
Hope your LO is feeling better!

Yes, skip as she may be contagious and probably needs rest at home anyway. Hope she is better today!

Fever, vomit, diarrhea are the 3 big reasons to keep kids home. You did the right thing!

@regberadaisy: we skipped a birthday party when DS was running a fever and had a runny nose...same reason, we didn't want to get anyone sick. i'm SURE the person understands :o)

I would! We skipped a birthday party in March even though she didn't have a fever because the doctor told us that she had a pretty nasty, contagious cold. The baby whose birthday it was had been sick for a long time with different things and was prone to catching things. She had just gotten better so I didn't want to bring LO and make her sick all over again.
I hope she feels better!

I would as well, only because my son would be so lethargic that he wouldn't have a good time. Moms understand!
eta: that's also why I never tell G we are going to do a certain thing on a certain day, because he is beginning to understand that he should look forward to things and then he gets disappointed when we can't go!

I def would have kept T home. He is pretty miserable with fevers and I wouldn't want to get anyone sick.

Good for you for staying home. I know some parents would be all for going but I think it's better for you and your lo to stay home and get some much needed rest. When they're sick, they don't need to be around other kids, getting all worked up. How is she doing today, @regberadaisy?

Yep. I won't take him anywhere if he has a fever, not only for other people, but for his own sake! I wouldn't want to be taken somewhere if I felt under the weather either
