Before I got pregnant, I was taking Florastor daily. It helped to regulate my digestive track. I noticed I also had less GI upset after eating certain things. Florastor is great because it's yeast based, so if you're on an antibiotic, it still works (that's how I started taking it).

Not in pill form, but I try to integrate fermented whole foods into my diet. Stuff like full-fat plain Greek yogurt, milk kefir, kombucha and raw sauerkraut.
It's hard to say all the positive effects. Digestion is obviously the most immediate and obvious, but the other benefits that come from digestive health and healing your gut flora (like a stronger immune system, anti-inflammatory benefits, improved nutritional absorption) are probably less easily pin-pointed, but hugely beneficial nonetheless.
