I might tell them a little but I never go into depth. My friends with friends with kids were the same way with me when I didn't have kids.

I may tell them something at a high level but not in detail. I feel like my friends w/o kids don't understand and they just kind of nod and go "Ok...."

With close friends, yes, because they know my triggers, like impatience. They can always give me a different perspective somehow. Granted, my son is 18 months, we don't have too many challenges at the moment.
