I am oh so very behind, because I still hold out hope that Stabler will leave his wife and end up with Olivia.

@bpcmarj: I think Stabler is too devout a Catholic to leave his wife. Maybe if something tragic happened to Kathy though, he'd be open to a relationship. He'd better save Olivia's life if and when he comes back though, because I still hold a grudge against him for the way he left!

@mrbee: You are right that he will never leave Kathy, but maybe they will kill her off and the big finale will be a flash forward wedding of Benson and Stabler?! A girl can dream. And I agree, I am still so mad at the way that he left...No warning at all...after 13 years together!
@Mrs. Jump Rope: I was so hoping they would get together when he split with Kathy, too. Not going to lie, the episode where Elliot is undercover and Olivia pretends to be his hooker is my favorite just for the fantasy of them being together. ha

I don't particularly love Cassidy, but I'm glad to see her in a relationship that's actually moving forward. For so long her most meaningful relationship was Elliott -- and that wasn't healthy. I agree with @Mr. Bee, though, I'd be totally down with Kathy dying and Elliott getting with her (ETA: after a proper amount of mourning, obviously). There was a part of me that thought he might save the day when the psychopath got her last year / the beginning of this year.
It does seem everyone on the SVU squad is struggling with demons these days. Ice-T seems to be the only one holding it together!

Liv dated Cassidy in the first season, too! I forget why they broke up but I temember being surprised when she got back together with him.
