I always wonder if the temperature display on the monitor is accurate. It always shows a higher temperature than our main thermostat, but I just assume due to the location of LO's nursery, the temperature must be a bit warmer.

I asked this when LO was little too. I think everyone agreed the Motorola monitor seemed to be a couple/few degrees hotter than reality? I know our LO's room does heat up faster and hotter than other rooms though (smallest and next to the furnace).

I think it reads hotter because it's so high up on the wall.

I think it reads hotter than it actually is. I have another thermometer in the room and it never reads the same as the monitor!

eta- We don't have one with temp readings now but I want one and since our monitor is on its way out (our fault, dd banged it up) I'm looking into it..

I don't think it's accurate. Plus, we have heat coming from the ceiling in her room and the camera is higher up.

I agree with @shopaholic: our Motorola seems a couple of degrees C warmer than our thermometer in the lounge.

We have the motorola monitor and the temp reading on it is always 4 degrees higher than our other thermometer's reading.

Ours usually reads colder but it's mounted on the outside wall.
