DH and I watched a lot of super nanny when I was pregnant with DS and we liked her stern but loving way of disciplining a child. Then I bought her book and her methods have been ingrained in my mind for awhile.

I never discussed the time-out method with anyone but my mom and she agreed with it (a minute for each year they are old and if they get up, time starts again) although, we didn't start time-outs until 2.5. So, I was talking with a friend about how DS had been in a time-out, once a day, for 4 days straight and she told me that it's neglect. She's a really natural/crunchy mom...but it made me feel bad. I'm reassessing if we should continue using time-outs. Sometimes they are effective and sometimes they aren't.

Do you feel time-outs are neglectful or wrong? She posted this photo on her Facebook later on that day -.-
