Do you feel you are compensated fairly for your job?
I should make about 30K more a year, IMO.

I'd settle for being compensated, period, lol. 44 more days 'til graduation!

I don't know. Before I had a baby, no way. I did multiple people's jobs and got paid less then anyone in my position has ever made. But I work for family, so it is what it is. But now I take my child to work, and half the day I just play with him and do no work at all. Honestly, though, I think I should be a millionaire for putting up with my FIL for the past 7 years. He is not an easy man to work for.

Yes...although I would love getting a bonus or a raise. Who wouldn't?!

Not really. I have more responsibilies/tasks than probably 80% of my colleagues (and do a good job) but I'm likely in the bottom 20% in terms of pay due to seniority within our organization. Oh, and I have more education than most of my colleagues.

When I worked, I felt I was overcompensated for the actual work I did. But under compensated for the lifestyle!

Yes, absolutely. My salary went up by about 50% last summer when my job was reclassified. Before that I had some concerns.

I've been thinking about asking my husband for a raise for being a stay at home mom. Seriously, it can be hard to work and work and not get monetary compensation. We're lucky that he's well compensated for his job, at least, so I feel like all of our hard work is worth it.

Yes. I am a contractor and they pay me the rate I asked for.

Not currently, but I'm starting a new job in a few months and it will be a big improvement. I could make more somewhere else, but I like the type of environment I will be in.

Before I became a SAHM, I was totally under compensated - such is the nonprofit world more often than not, sadly. Hence the SAHM gig...

The one job that compensated me fairly...well, let's be honest: more than my fair share, was a terrible job and I hated it & went home hating my life everyday. It was a mixture of location and mediocre co-workers.
The next job paid me just about what I deserved and didn't have benefits...so it was OK , not great, in that sense. I almost would have worked for free though. I loved it there. Awesome location in the fun part of the city & great colleagues who I liked & learned from.

Heck no. I just read an article today saying that my state is ranked 46th in teacher pay. Add in the fact that I teach a government-funded pre-k program, but not IN a public school, and its even less.
Sometimes I wonder why I went into student loan debt just to get paid not much above minimum wage. Obviously, I LOVE what I do or I wouldn't do it.

I am but don't get appreciation or respected from two of my coworkers. At this point, the money is not worth the job. They could pay me more and I still wouldn't stay.

When I was in the working world I definitely wasn't being compensated fairly. Such is life working for the government.

@DigAPony: college instructors are paid diddly-squat. DH is a professor and you'd think he'd be making bank... Ugh. I think he'd be better off as a high school teacher, better pay AND better hours.
For my new job I think I will be paid well.

@Mrs. Pen: Yup--if you're able to get a tenure-track job, then you're pretty golden, but it's a long, hard, competitive road. That's my long-term goal but I don't see it happening for at least...10-15 years? Maybe?

Nope, I should make about $15,000 more a year than I do. I stay because I have the best boss ever, I have a very cushy job. He let me bring lo with me for 6 months!

Yes, I believe I am. I know my husband is not.
