I thought I would be realistic and accept that there are more beautiful babies out there, but now that LO is here I totally think she is the best lookin' baby I've ever seen.
How about you?

Haha no... our babies have a cuteness curve that they had to grow into. Olive is near her Peak Cute now, but Charlie is already coming down haha... I still love him so much though!

In a word...yes. Haha. I do think there are lots of other super cute babies though!!
pineapple / 12802 posts
haha. I'm going in this with the same perspective you have pre-preg. There are some majorly cute babies out there (especially on this site!) and I want to be realistic! hehe We'll see how that goes...

haha! Yes! I always tell DH that we have the cutest kid EVER! I'm pathetic.
blogger / pomegranate / 3201 posts
For sure. We were just talking about how we have always thought he's the cutest baby ever, but when we look back at pictures of him when he was younger, we think he is way cuter now than he was then (even though at the time we thought he was the cutest ever).

When my twins were born, no. They were a couple of weeks early and looked like little pink versions of ET. A about a month were they got some baby fat then they were cute. My other two were super cute right away

I was just thinking about this earlier today! Every time I look at her I think, "Oh my gosh.. I WON THE CUTENESS LOTTERY!" I can't stop taking pictures of her.

@photojane: Haha, seriously! I, am like, caught off guard by her cuteness sometimes. I can't stand it! Ack. I miss her now LOL

no. of course i think they're pretty darn cute, but objectively there are lots more way cuter babies out there!
grapefruit / 4819 posts
Yep, I totally know I have the world's cutest baby! I always thought I would be realistic and objectively judge whether or not she is a truly cute baby, but once she arrived, any objectivity went out the window. The fact that we're constantly being told she's a beautiful baby has only reinforced what I already know (kidding...a bit! No bias here of course...)
Truly though, I think every baby is cute - in some way or another! It's once they get to the toddler stage that the cuteness can vary wildly!

@Mrs. Bee: Really? I think Olive and Charlie are two of the CUTEST kids I have seen! I love when you post pictures of them!
admin / watermelon / 14210 posts
@Ree723: yes they are adorable to me and i probably say it every single day to mr. bee. but objectively there are way cuter kids out there. besides... how could everyone in this thread's baby be the cutest if charlie and olive were?

Me and DH keep joking that we will get an ugly one as punishment for all the times we have said "ugly baby alert!" behind friends backs. I know, we are horrible people...!
GOLD / squash / 13464 posts
@Cherrybee: a really good friend of mine was terrified of this because she always made comments about ugly babies. But don't worry, she ended up with a gorgeous kid.

@MamaMoose: Im fairly sure I will think mine is gorgeous whatever it looks like! But I give my friends full permission to laugh behind my back at my delusion!!
All babies are beautiful, really!
coconut / 8234 posts
Yes! DH and I are always saying how cute/beautiful she is...but we said we need to stop saying it as much when she can understand so that she doesn't get a big head. I have lots of friends who have beautiful babies and we all have the most beautiful babies in our respective worlds
coconut / 8305 posts
DH totally thinks P is the most beautiful baby ever. Lol
I know there are much cuter babies & like Mr. Bee mentioned I've seen first hand the cuteness curve.... at almost 9 y/o G has passed his and is getting into that awkward not so cute anymore stage. lol.
They are by far my most favorite babies in the world though!!!
hostess / wonderful persimmon / 25556 posts
Man, I thought she was the prettiest thing in the world when she was born. Now I look at those pics and think wow, she really wasn't.... Haha. I think she's awfully cute now.

@Cherrybee: i am totally convinced i will have a hideous baby! haha. everyone says that we will have a beautiful baby and there's so much pressure, i can't handle it! and DH was the ugliest baby ever so i think i just want to go into it with the assumption it will be an ugly baby but grow into its looks so i don't get disappointed. (can you tell i'm going to be a terrible mother?!? )
cantaloupe / 6610 posts
Yep!
Confession: I will look at babies in like PBK & Carter's magazines and compare H to those babies. I swear she beats them every time, lol! I basically think she could run them out of a job, lol
I need to get a life, hahaha
cantaloupe / 6610 posts
@mrsjazz: I worry about this too! I constantly coo at DD that she is gorgeous/beautiful/pretty and it just recently occurred to me that I need to find a healthy balance between making her confident and making her conceited!!

I think my baby is the cutest...baby in my house We absolutely think he is fabulous, but I know we are blinded by love
pineapple / 12793 posts
I so wanted to be objective about her beauty when I was pregnant and then I was shocked at how gorgeous she was at birth. There is no way I can isolate my feelings for her...she's just the most fabulous baby ever.
grapefruit / 4819 posts
@mrs. bird: Bwahahaha! You're so funny, and no, you're not going to be a terrible mother! When MIL was giving birth to BIL, the nurses asked if she had a preference for a boy or girl (she had one of each at that point) and she said "no, just ten fingers, ten toes, and not a redhead" Well, BIL was born and not only was he a redhead (which I personally love), but he was also quite an unattractive baby. There's just no way around it, he was an ugly baby up until about the age of 4 or so, BUT, he's a very good looking man now. The whole family makes jokes about what an ugly baby he was and he fully acknowledges it..... his wife isn't so amused though, but being pregnant with their first child, I can maybe see why!

Yes but based not just on looks but personality! She's a charmer, she smiles bright eyed at people and it is infectious. Lots of people have commented on her pleasantness (so far, fingers crossed). She wakes up excited which I love. That's not to say she didn't go through a fussy stage or doesn't have her moments though!
Looks wise I do wish she had more hair but I dress her up with headbands and such!
@princessbaby I do the same thig but I honestly have seen a lot of not THAT cute Carter's babies. Now gap, they have cute babies! (Or is it just the adorable style?)

I think we see things in ourselves and our partners in our kids that make them the "most beautiful".
After DS was born I started to like my own face more because he looks like me. His full eyebrows, thick hair and crazy cowlicks, his curvy upper lip, his pointy chin - all come from me. He's got DH's smile, complexion and hair color.
