I was watching my daughter last night and thinking about how wonderful she is, and how she's so kind and beautiful and loving, and then I wondered... am I delusional? Do all parents think their kids are the cutest/smartest/greatest kids ever?
Because I've thought that about my son plenty of times too! Maybe it's like driving, where 93% of drivers think they are above-average drivers. We can't all be having above-average kids!

I definitely think my kids are awesome. But I can also see when other kids are cute and smart. My kids are always the greatest wherever they go

You're delusional. It's simply powerful grandiose love. I love my kid more than any other and adore every single thing about her --for no extreme reason I can attribute to her- she is not the greatest/cutest/smartest/kindest kid ever. That said, if someone were to think their kid was better human than mine, I would understand and be offended at the untruth at the same time.

I'm convinced if you don't think your kid is the cutest that you're a psychopath. I mean realistically I know she has flaws and limits but she's still the best ever.

I'm not crazy to think other kids out there will be smarter or better looking..
But to me? He is my everything- he's amazing and adorable and smart and kind and I think he's the best thing that's ever happened to me.

To ME, they're the greatest, smartest, most awesome kids on the planet. But I'm also well aware of the fact that the rest of the world won't see them that way. And I want them to be aware of that. I hope I can raise them to be good friends and treat everyone the same, not act like they think they're the greatest, smartest, most awesome kids on the planet.

Well, I have a 3 year old boy with ADHD and ODD so right now I'm a little jaded on this since every day has been a struggle lately but I can say that I think he is amazing and I'm lucky to be his Mom!

Duh! Everything about him melts my heart and of course he is the most adorable little person I have ever known. 
Not to say I don't recognize and appreciate other people's gorgeous and talented children because I swoon over them too!

In general I think my kids are amazing cute and wonderful. There's something about your own kids where you're totally biased. Kind of like how you can't really look at yourself in the mirror objectively.
I will say though, I've had some weird dissonance with that feeling lately. For his entire life I have thought that DS is just so cute and beautiful. And then a couple months ago he fell and damaged one of his front teeth and it looks so awful. So I simultaneously think how cute he looks then I get really upset at how bad his tooth looks.

I try to understand that I have a huge bias, but yes my kids are the greatest, cutest smartest kids in the world (at least to me, my husband, and my parents).

Mine are the cutest and greatest kids of all time! DD1 is so smart and curious, sweet and a great helper to me, and she is extra beautiful. DD2 is a sweet, sweet calm baby. I definitely like other kids and can appreciate their good qualities but mine are 100% the best children ever made.

I KNOW they're not the cutest or greatest (like smartest, or most well behaved, or best eater/sleeper, etc) but to me they are the most awesome cause they're mine!!

I think it's so special when we are our kid's biggest fan. Related: I'm always so humbled (and my heart is so happy) to see how others love LO. My family acts like she's the first child to ever exist on this planet.
Short answer: yes, I think LO is the best.

I think I have the delusion under check - there are certainly kids out there I've seen who are better-looking or cuter or smarter than my little LO. But I still think my son is pretty stinkin cute and I adore him more than anything!

Sometimes I wonder where my kid came from. I know what I looked like as a baby, and what my husband looked like as a kid.. My kid is about a zillion times better looking than either one of us.

@littlejoy: yes! Me too! I seriously get emotional sometimes about others who truly invest in the life of my child. My daycare provider actually LOVES my child, she cares about him (and the rest of her "kids") so much, and seriously it makes me cry thinking about it sometimes because he's never had a caregiver outside of family who has truly loved who he is. I wrote her a long note gushing about her for Christmas with a nice bonus and she teared up and gave me a hug. So special!

Of course they are! DS1 is a little Tazmanian devil, but he's SO stinking funny and sassy. He's a character, for sure. DS2 is our happy, sweet baby and you can't help but love him.
Also, can we post some pics of these kiddos? I love some kid pics!
