Never and we've had mail wo/man that are great and sucky

We are on the "training route" and regularly cycle through 2-3 new carriers each week, so no, we don't tip. Our service is pretty unpredictable, but I guess it's to be expected.

No?! I didn't know that was a thing. Canada Post isn't high on my fan list right now though. It costs a freaking dollar for a postage stamp to mail a letter. So ridiculous.

I don't tip our mailman, but we use Amazon prime and do tip our ups driver. He is just lovely! Our kids see him all over the neighborhood during the day and it's like seeing Santa Claus!

Nope I don't like my mailman. He takes all of our packages (even if they are really small & will fit in our box) and brings them to our apartment office. (I love when there is a fill in & they actually leave the packages!) Also he likes to mark packages as delivered but not deliver them until the following day.

Nope. Like some of the other ladies, I don't ever see my mailman. I'm not even sure what time he comes!

I didn't even know this is a thing. I understand it's a service, but they are getting paid a salary to do so in most cases? I don't get tipped for doing my job correctly or to the best of my ability. Is that an awful way to think of it?

We don't "tip", but we do give him a thank-you gift at Christmas with a Starbucks/DD gift card, some homemade treats and a card, etc. He also leaves a Christmas card in everyone's mailbox.

Nope. Our mail lady sucks, and definitely doesn't deserve it. She's very rude too.

Nope - we're also on a training route and it's pretty consistently awful. We've gotten mail for almost every single neighbor on our block, sometimes all in one day. Lol

Absolutely not. We have a few different mail people, so not one consistent person every day. (I don't think it's a training route tho bc we have the same few people.) They are horrible. They pull off to the side just to text all the time. I get home around the same time the mail is delivered some days and I have literally sat there with my blinker on waiting to turn in my driveway while they have been playing on their phone sitting at my mailbox. They literally throw our packages at our door (one guy has quite the arm ). I'm a federal employee and it makes me cringe seeing this behavior bc I know this is exactly why some people have a bad taste in their mouth for federal employees.

@regberadaisy: a bunch of packages were missing and lots of mail mixed up at our building so someone called our postmaster who explained the training route. Some weeks are better than others for delivery! Best case is to get packages delivered by another carrier!

Yes! We've had the same mailman for 6 years, and we tip him every Christmas. I know it's illegal for him to accept it, but I'm certainly not reporting him.

We LOVE our mailman! He knows my son's name and always says hello to him by name. My son will also shout, "hi Dave" to him if he sees him anywhere and begs to go outside to say hello if we are inside when Dave comes. We got a new gate code on our front gate and when Dave couldn't open it to get to our front porch, he wrapped a box in a bag because rain was forecasted. When I specifically thanked him for that, he told me "of course I wouldn't want your packages to get wet and I can but those bags at 10 for $1". If he is delivering a package to our porch and sees that FEdEx tossed one over the fence because they don't bother to try to unlock the gate, Dave will move that package to the covered porch as well. He is always happy and adds cheer to our day. When he is on vacation, we can tell. Packages (labeled with our gate code) are tossed over the fence and we get our neighbor's mail. He has been our mailman for years and I only recently tipped him with a Starbucks gift card. I need to make it a more regular thing.
