Just wondering!
And if so- do you calculate from pre-tax amount or net?

We do. Calculated from pre-tax amount, I believe (DH takes care of it).

Yep. Every month.
We decided on a set amount and give that amount to our church every month. We also support missionaries/non profit organizations.

Yes, I give 10% of my take-home pay. It's one of the only financial matters in our marriage that is totally individual. My husband does not tithe and I do, so I do that before we pool our pay together. He is fine with it.

I would really like to incorporate it into our budget. I know that in my faith, we believe it is our responsibility to give back - but it's so hard to do when we still have our debts to pay! I would like to prioritize it though.
I would calculate the amount we give probably as a set amount rather than percentage. But if we were doing the standard 10%, I would do net pay.

We do 10% gross adjusted income - which is actually a lot harder to do than we thought because of our taxes being so complicated. So how we do it is we tithe on 10% of our AGI from the most recent tax year (divided by 12 to make it monthly), and then make an adjustment if we're short based on the following year's tax filings (i.e. if we made more money during the year). After doing our taxes for this year, we found we did make more last year than the previous year, so we figured out how much we were short and sent in an additional check yesterday.

We try to every week, but if we are off, we do a big offering at the end of the year.

Honestly, we are hit or miss some weeks. God just blessed DH with a better job so I really want to be more of a giver.

We are working towards tithing. We give on an annual basis (just easier for us to write a check at the end of the year), but it's not tithing yet. Our goal is to hit full tithing in the next few years.

We do tithe on our income. Sometimes it's a little painful because we still have a lot of student loans that we're trying to pay off, but we just don't let ourselves consider it optional. We tithe off of our gross, although I've heard various good arguments for both gross and net, and I wouldn't have an issue with either. DH feels strongly that it should be from gross because it's the "first fruits," i.e. what we pay "first" when we receive and therefore before taxes.

No. we really should. We don't have church home but that doesn't give us an excuse to give to a church or charity regularly!

@char54: haha!
We just started doing a set amount this year. So far so good - in the past we never followed through.
