Amazon are liars cheaters and crooks For real though! They are super unethical.

I always double check prices before I buy anything anywhere! I think there are extensions you can add to your browser that helps you check prices at other sites before you buy on Amazon too!

I've noticed that a few times and every time it is an item not sold by Amazon. In your example it's sold by Klipple group, so it's just some other store using Amazon as their marketplace.

I've found their prices to vary...sometimes they are much cheaper than any other option, other times they are more. I usually do have to compare prices. Often the convenience of Amazon puts them ahead though, even if they are a few bucks more.

Amazon usually has pretty good prices, but I always double check by googling what ever it is I want to buy to see if other reputable sites come up.

I price check a lot on other sites. A lot of times I find that with deals and stacking and coupons Kohls (gasp) can be a great place for toys!

@Raindrop: yeah! I have noticed them marking things up but also there was an article in my local paper recently about their business practices...

@Greentea: I respectfully disagree. I have many friends that work at Amazon and they've done lots of good in the region.

@Raindrop: I have found that if something is sold by a 3rd party, the price can be really out of whack with reality. In general though, Amazon (and many of the marketplace sellers) use autopricing so prices are generally good. Its never a bad idea to do a sanity check search though.

I generally find the prices are better on Amazon, but that's for items actually sold by Amazon. All bets are off with other sellers and I check other prices in that case.

I created a baby registry on Amazon and Target, and found a lot of the same items at Target for the same or cheaper price. So I guess I just don't assume Amazon is the cheapest anymore, although I definitely used to! It is convenient to be able to place one order for so many different items though.

Overall, I find amazon has pretty good prices. But I tend to check BRU and BuyBuyBaby or Target as well to make sure, because sometimes amazon can be a little more expensive. I've found some differences sometimes.

I never assume that Amazon has the best prices (so I check other places to make sure) but I do tend to find that they usually do (or it maybe costs a couple bucks more but with their free shipping, you end up paying less).

If it's not sold by amazon directly I always compare as it can sometimes be much more expensive, especially on Amazon.ca

This came up this weekend because my husband was telling me that walmart price matches amazon. So we were browsing for Christmas stuff and I told him to compare to amazon and everything was atleast $10 more.

Agree with PP....I find Amazon to be the cheapest when the item is being sold by them and not a third party seller just using the Amazon Marketplace. Perfect example, I was looking at those Little People play sets and found one I liked and checked Amazon...it was $94!! What? Then I realized it was being sold by a third party....I did a Google search and found it at Toys R Us for $45....

I always Google search to price compare!
