We got a lot of feedback early on that the search wasn't very good, so we've worked to improve it a bunch. The search algorithm is better now, and you can also filter the results by categories or boards.
Do you use Hellobee's Search feature to search the boards? How does the search work for you?

I have a bad habit of almost never using it (and just posting new posts that end up being duplicates, which I figure out after I post and I see my EXACT post in the "related posts" list... oops) but the times I use it, it has been great!!

Yes. I use it any time I have a question about something so that I can see if anything similar has been posted before. If I find that the information isn't there in a past thread, then I'll start a new one.

Yes, but to be honest i haven't found it to be that great. You either have to be really specific or very vague to get what you're looking for. It's sometimes easier for me to go to the board and filter through the threads. But maybe it's improved since i last used it??

I use it all the time and think it's good. I have searched for pretty specific topics, and it pulls up a good amount of info for me.
I wish more people used it, but I understand people sometimes want an answer right away or want to have a discussion of their own about something.

Yes, I use it when I am about to post a new topic to make sure the exact thing wasn't posted about before. It seems to work well for that kind of thing.
When I use it to try to find a specific post, it's hit or miss. I usually can find it by searching google.

@mrbee: If I want to find a specific thread that a certain user posted on, will the search do that?
Sometimes, I look for my own comments and I have trouble finding the thread.

Do you do that kind of search a lot? If there was interest, we might be able to offer advanced search as a Gold feature..

I use it. I wish I could search an individual thread though (for instance, my month board. If I know I made a post about x and want to find it, I have to wade through everyone else's posts about x before I find mine. Or I can try combining x with August 2013 and hope that it limits things down enough).

Absolutely. I just started using the Clearblue Fertility Monitor, and did so after searching for posts on it here. I also will search to see if a topic has been discussed before asking a question about it.

I try sometimes. It seems to be okay if I want information on a product, or if I can remember the (almost) exact title of the thread I am looking for. but if I only remember the content of the thread i'm looking for I find it is almost impossible to find via search-- it just never seems to get there.

Yes, I use the HB search a lot. But sometimes I end up going to Google and searching 'my topic + hellobee' because I didn't get any or the right results from within HB.

@mrbee: I love the search function for the board, but the search for the blog really sucks. For example, search cloth diaper and you get a random list of posts like
- nursing cover round up
- what do I need two of for twins (and cloth diapers aren't on the list)
- Swarm: what are your favorite apps
It would be great to search a blog topic and get the threads you have created at the top and then maybe individual posts below that.

@T.H.O.U.: Yah we haven't invested too much on the blog search. The WordPress-powered search isn't very good, so we'll have to figure out a way to bypass it completely. I added your suggestion here, so other people can weigh in on it:
