No, but when we have a house that could host holiday dinners or parties I would consider it. Like you is rather just get some serving pieces and use the regular place settings.

My MIL was thinking about starting a holiday plate collection for me, like giving me one or two pieces every Christmas, but Dh was like, we live in a one bedroom apt. Please wait.

Nope; we don't have any fancy china! We like our regular everyday white set from BBB! I feel like they can be casual every night dinner but also host people over.

I have 8 place settings of the Nikko Christmas dishes that I inherited from my grandmother. We had such a big family and she had so many dishes, there were 3 of us girls who got that many place settings. If we host anything for Christmas, I do like to use them. For other holidays, we just use plain dishes.

I have I think 5 sets of Christmas dishes (just cheap ones like they sell at Walgreens mostly, though all are from Goodwill so I think one actually is a bit nicer). I might have 6, I forget. I use them for Christmas parties, which I love having. I don't use them for every day use though, because I'm weird and OCD about dishes and have to have small, separate dishes for each item. (i.e. a small bowl for my beans, a small plate for my pork chop, etc)
