I've been using our wool dryer balls for 2 years now. What are the reasons for replacing? The box ours came in suggested washing them inside socks if they needed fluffing up but I haven't felt like I needed to do that yet.

Do dryer balls (any sort) make a difference? I stopped using dyer sheets because DD2 has super sensitive skin, but haven't replaced them with anything.

Yep, I can't stand the smell of dryer sheets. I just recently got wool dryer balls and I'm not convinced they actually do anything, but since we have them, I use them. Before that, we never bothered using anything.

@PurplePeony: Pretty much the same. I'm not sure they do anything (hell, I'm not 100% on what they're even supposed to do), but they're there so I used them.

I switched to them about 18 months ago and love them!! I use to get this nasty residue on the lint catcher and now its gone!
If your clothes start to get staticy (is that a word? ha!) you can wash the dryer balls with super hot water inside a pillow case to rejuvenate them

I just use dryer sheets! Our son's never had an issue with them.
