Dh does some events with his work. I used to teach Sunday school pre-baby and have been wanting to get back into that and other volunteering opportunities.
I'd really like to help out at a hospital or boys/girls club in the area. But I think the process is a bit more complex than I had initially thought.
Do you volunteer? What do you? How was the start-up process?

I *really* want to volunteer with Make A Wish. But the application process is pretty arduous. I think when the LOs are a bit older we might take something up together.

My work used to organize volunteer events about once a month and I always participated in those before I left. Now I'd really love to, but am struggling with finding something I can do with my infant along for the ride.

At the moment, no.
I am struggling with finding something that is a good use of my time. I know it shouldn't matter, but the fact is with working and a child, commuting to events where I stand around isn't worth it for anyone.

@stine_ciro: my cousin in law volunteers with Meals on Wheels! She delivers food to the elderly and they so enjoy seeing little kids.

Pre-baby, yes. Post-baby, nope. I hope to get back into and introduce volunteering to DS when he's older.

Yes. We volunteer to help set up and tear down at our church (the church is in a movie theatre, so every Sunday we need to set everything up and then tear it all down after).
I also volunteer to help with worship there.
DH does a youth Bible study.
And we both help out at a soup kitchen once a month.
We also do some seasonal things like sing Christmas carols to the elderly.

Yes, anywhere from 10-20+ hours a month. I think it's part of my personal responsibility to give back, and hey, it makes me feel good too!
I am involved with several dog rescue transports on the weekends.
I'm doing "spin for charity" for a local cancer community center Friday night
Tax season I'm a volunteer tax preparer and money coach for the CA$H program (I think that's a national program?).
Thanksgiving I cook thanksgiving dinner for a local shelter for homeless veterans, and Christmas I do several things.
We also give $$ to a few different local and national non-profit organizations.

I am a pastor's wife, so I'm not sure if I count the things I do at church volunteering. I guess they are, since I don't have to do anything! I teach Sunday school or help to babysit little ones, we run our youth group on Fridays, DH also runs a basketball program and I go to practices/games when I can.

I volunteer with a German Shepherd rescue group. It's irregular hours, and I like the flexibility. I visit homes of people who want to adopt, and transport dogs from shelters to foster homes.
I once volunteered at the hospital's school. I would pick up children from their rooms to take them to school and worked in the classroom. Intense.

I'm unemployed, so I've been volunteering more than normal or else I'll go crazy at home. Right now I am teaching adult ESL classes for about 10hrs/wk.

I do, my husband works for a day shelter for the homeless and low income. They run a few vocational training programs so I volunteer with that once a month. We also have hosted many events for their connected clients at our home. I love it. I'm really grateful that my LO gets to be part at such a young age in serving people.
ETA: I would really like to volunteer at a local no kill animal shelter when I have more free time.

I co-lead a Green Team at work, and we arrange volunteering opportunities for the office, like clean-up events and e-waste events. I also participate in other community service events at work. Wish I could do more!
