I often put LO in clothing that's a little big. I figure he'll get more use out of the clothing and I hate when he doesn't wear stuff that much. Do you?

Yup, I currently have her in 1-1/2-2yr from H&M. It's a dress now then will be a tunic and eventually a tank top! hehe

I start her in stuff that's big and try to let her wear it until it's snug.

Yep, I tend to size up, especially for shirts I like. I don't mind them being loose at first if I can get longer use out of them (within reason, of course--he's not swimming in them).

I try and keep him in his smaller clothes until he's ready for the next size. I still put B in some 3 - 6 month stuff. Mini Boden seems to run huge! Weirdly enough, he has a huge head, so it's hard putting some clothes on him because of his gigando head.

I try to put her in bigger clothing to get more wear out of each item. Lately I've been putting her in stuff as it fits because the stuff I predicted she'd wear in the summer fits now. I feel badly that some of her gorgeous summer wardrobe won't ever see the light of day.

@littlek: pants I can't usually size up b/c he has a skinny waist!

Generally I do but when Em was born, I had to actually buy newborn clothes because she was so tiny. The 0-3 month and 3 month clothes her brother had ate her up so I had to downsize. Glad she's up in her weight so I can get more use out of his old clothes!

@winniebee: B has short legs and a long torso. So, Gap pants are huge on him. B is getting a budha belly, so I think he may about to have another growth spurt.

I can't wait to put her in some of her cute new clothes, so I always put her in them even if they're a little big. Rolling up sleeves or cuffing pants a little works wonders!

@NaturallyCathy: Aww, B was in newborn clothes forever! When we started he was too small for preemie. He was only in preemie for a month though.

@littlek: Our guys are built similarly - short legs, long torso. He almost always outgrows bodysuits first. Gap tends to run big in the waist as well! Especially jeans. I have to be careful about what type of waist they are.

ypu - a lot of clothes are easy to "fix." like right now he's in 12-18 mos gap jeans that have an adjustable waist (tightest setting haha!) and cuffed and they look adorable. Although he is actually in size 6-12 months.
@winniebee: do you buy the adjustable waists? I just bought him gap jeans that are adjustable and I think he'll fit in them for awhile. They're so super cute!

We upsize t-shirts & cardigans! I love that I can just roll up her sleeves & she get alot of wear out of one! I'll also buy boys button up shirts 2 sizes too big that she can wear as dresses & then with leggings/capris & a mini belt as she "grows into it".

Nope. I took her out of newborn cause they were starting to get to short. So they are still big on her. Plus she had more in 0-3, so I wanted her to start wearing her cute spring stuff!!

@littlek: Mine was skinny and a whole pound lighter than when her brother was born - she was just 6 pounds 12 ounces compared to his 7 pounds 13.5 ounces. She was also a few inches shorter. But everything we had was HUGE on her tiny frame so my family and I scrambled to get the wee thing clothed. As you saw, though, she's chubbed up nicely Glad yours has too!

I hate when C's clothes are too big. It really bugs me, for some reason.

@zippylef: I'm like that with P bottoms! This is the number reason she rarely wears leggings! If they fit in length they're super baggy, so we pretty much only wear capri leggings & size 3-6 mth shorts! lol

@runsyellowlites: C lives in jeggings! Theyre the only things I have found that fit her really well. Leggings tend to be too short on her ankles and real jeans tend to be too baggy.

@zippylef: Yep! Same here. I did finally get her some shorts & I think we have 3 pairs of leggings that she only wears on wash days! lol I care way less about what I wear day to day than I do her! lol

I've been trying to put clothes on her a little big these days. For the first 6 months at least, we had so many clothes she was growing out of them before she could wear them all!
@littlek: Mini Boden does run huge! I think LO will be able to wear her 6-12 month Boden stuff until at least 18 months. She can still wear her 0-6 month tights from there.

@runsyellowlites: I wish she could wear shorts more! The weather here is so bipolar though.
Hahaha, same here. I'm a jeans, t-shirt and cardigan/hoodie kind of girl. C is always cute and matching with shoes and a hair accessory to complete the outfit.
