I have come to the conclusion that no matter how hard I try I will never, ever be able to draw!!
Look, here is a picture of Santa's elves I drew today, in an attempt at illustrating a children's book I have written...
Is is me or are these the scariest elves you have ever seen?
Don't worry, I have recruited a friend to illustrate my book for me!! She is a wonderful artist, too! I'm very excited about it!!

Also I can't draw. Not at all. Art classes were part of my college major and I cannot draw, paint, or sculpt!

The pics aren't bad...your medium makes them a little sadder than they have to be.
I am a trained, pitiful artist. I am okay with shapes, landscapes, and buildings. I rock the abstract art. Ha!

I love them, even if they are a little scary. Very Tim burton, nightmare before Halloween.
I am a pretty good drawer actually. I had a studio art major in college and focused on painting and drawing. Not fantastic but pretty good.

I designed my wedding cake in a Tim Burton stylee - I drew it in sharpie pen - but I had to get someone else to make it!! You see, my imagination knows what it wants but my hands just can't seem to replicate it! Art is such a talent!

I can't draw. Period. I doodle little sad flowers and houses, same as I did in elementary school. My sister got the art genes; she's in school right now for graphic design!
Literally every member of DH's family (including DH, he's an art director) is an artist of some sort.. I feel a bit left out!

I love them! I think they are sort of fun and whimsical I cannot draw to save my life. Which is annoying to me because my dad is crazy talented and my brother is a pretty good drawer too, but I think that gene skipped me.

I have zero creativity/artistic feature in me. I missed it because my mom, dad, and younger bro all are! I wish I was though. Heck, I can't even cut a straight line even when one is given to me to follow!

@Bookish: This sounds exactly like me. Like exactly. My brother took all kinds of art and was very talented. My mother is quite artistic. My DH's family is very artistic. His sister and his grandmother are/were professional artists. In fact we have both of their art hanging in our house. But me? I can draw 3D boxes. And silly flowers. That's it.
@Cherrybee: These are WAAAY better than I can do! They're cute! And bolder colors would make them even cuter!

Your elves are WAY better than anything I could do! I've always been a terrible artist. I'm also bad at anything crafty, DIY, or Pinterest-inspired. I'm good at buying stuff though
