Totally. My son has already been to 13 countries and he's 3. We love to travel, so are kids will always be along for the ride.

We want our kids to travel, but I don't want to ruin road trips for them by having it be something forced on them as kids. A vacation every year or two, and hopefully some int'l exposure I would love though.

A lot of my favorite memories are from family travels. Those trips were huge in forming my dreams and ambitions. I'd live to take them to as many places as possible. They can decide if they want to revisit when they're older.

I have a lot of great memories taking road trips to visit my grandmother's family and in our family's RV. I hope to travel a lot with our LO(s). Unfortunately, DH doesn't really like to travel (unless it is to his parents) and hates road trips.

I was incredibly blessed as a kid that my parents had the means to take me traveling and I still am thankful to them for letting me see the world after I realized how expensive trips are as an adult!

I think I'M the one that wants to see the world, and if it means lugging around LO(s) to do so, I just might! I think it's great to expose them to different people/places/cultures starting at a young age.

But it will def depend on if they travel well, and whether we have the money to do so.

We traveled a TON growing up - my mom traveled for work so we were able to fly on frequent flier miles and stay in hotels on points. We were so lucky, and now, knowing how expensive it is to take those trips without those "perks," I am even more grateful that we had those opportunities. I would love to be able to travel as much with our family, but since we don't have the miles and the hotel points, it is just not financially in the cards for us.

This is where Hubs and I disagree. I want to save our money and take bigger, more "exciting" trips every couple of years. Hubs wants to go to the beach every year. Same beach. Same house/hotel. With his family. Meh. I was so lucky to see so many places and different cultures, and I really want D to experience that. I think it is important to be exposed to different things. It's an on-going conversation in our house.

I don't think I have a goal as to quantity as much as I want travel and exposure to new places to be a constant throughout their childhoods. DD is 16 months and has been to 14 states! We've taken a few big road trips with her, and it's actually been really fun! I have wonderful memories of family vacations both domestically and abroad while we were expats growing up, and I'd love to give my kids a similar taste of the world.
