I was a big tomboy growing up. I loved playing sports, collecting baseball cards, and generally playing rough. I guess I got girlier as I got older, but I still think of myself as a tomboy. 
I do want to raise Olive to be more of a tomboy I guess. I'm not interested in ballet classes, and I can't wait to enroll her in martial arts instead. Then again... I do love to dress her up!
But generally I want to make her tough, teach her how to fix things, play sports, etc.

Both! I am a good balance of both and I appreciate that I don't mind getting dirty or playing sports, but love an opportunity to don some heels and makeup.
If I had to choose one or the other I would choose tomboy since tomboys tend to be more sensible IMO.

I don't really care but I'd find it easier to relate to a girly girl! I think that having a boy who is already ALL boy has helped me be more comfortable with either option though.

I wanted my DD to be a tomboy (or not full out but tough like you say) but its become quite clear that's not her path. Not surprising since I'm not a tomboy at all. We still encourage her to be tough, and we don't particularly encourage "girly" stuff etc but we also let her choose what she likes and she gravitates more toward stereotypically girly stuff. She asked for ballet, gymnastics, art, and rejected soccer, karate, etc. We are gonna keep trying, though!

I love that our girls are a good blend of both. Lala LOVES her ballet class, but she's equally interested in soccer and baseball. She loves trucks and clothes. M seems to be following suit.

I was a tomboy until 12 years old when I started to get curves, discovered makeup, and have been a girlie girl ever since. I would love for my daughter to be a tough girlie girl like me.

I want her to be strong and independent and fiesty (so far, so good) but I'm not going to lie: I totally want to play barbies with her. I hate sports and have NO interest in them, so I'll cheer her like mad from the sidelines of whatever sport she might like, but I'll be dying a little inside of boredom the entire time.

I want a good balance of both but, not gonna lie, I would love it if she leaned more toward the girly girl than the tomboy. And that is surprising because I was SUCH a tomboy growing up! Now I am a pretty fair mix.

Either or! I want her to be tough and kick butt if need be! She is in the habit of saying "I'm a princess." then playing basketball. So she's a mix so far!

I would like her to be whatever she prefers. She's only three months, and I admit I dress her more on the girly girl side, but that's just my personal style. I plan to expose her to many neutral activities and toys, and try not to solely encourage stereotypical gender roles right from the get-go. Basically, I just plan to follow her lead. Her father and I have a good mix of interests, so I'm hopeful it will be a nice blend.

We follow our girls' leads. My eldest has shown to be super girly (loves princesses, ballet, *hot* pink, having long hair with various updos and braids, and wears dresses 99.9% of the time), but she also loves tae kwon do and discussing video games with her dad.
My youngest is still too young (a little over 2 yo) to tell which camp she'll be in more than the other, but I'm just hoping for a nice balance in interests. So far she's a bit more tomboyish though, i think. She's exposed to a lot of her sister's activities and has already voiced that she wants to take ballet AND tae kwon do too!

Neither! I imagine she will be a mix. I have a feeling he will be an athlete of some sort, but I hope she has a range of interests.

My daughter is definitely on the tomboy side. She hates dresses and anything too frilly. I've wasted money getting her cute outfits that she refuses to wear. I don't know how she can tell at 2 years old. Her favorite pairing is a tshirt and leggings. Perhaps she gets it from me because I don't wear dresses much myself. I think she'll do well in sports - she's already doing so well with her gymnastics and swim classes. Ultimately, I hope she'll be a good blend of both.

Definitely a tomboy- I wouldn't even know how to handle a girly girl!
That said, I am absolutely a tomboy, and I took ballet for 12 years. I can dance on my toes, but can't walk in heels to save my life though

I wouldn't push her but I'd love for her to be a girly girl. I've always been a super girly girl and would be so happy to share the stuff I loved as a kid like tea parties, dress-up, dolls and makeup and nail polish. If she's not into it, I'll adjust!

I really don't mind what she wants to be - not consciously, anyway. That said, I want her to play in ways that stimulate her mind, make her think and build her confidence. I have already started a stickle brick collection for her! So I guess the toys I will encourage her to play with the most are those classed as boys toys and I am more likely to take her outside getting muddy, pond dipping etc, than I am to encourage her to feed her baby dolls. So maybe I am more of a tomboy-mum?

Girly girl, for sure. I won't force her to do something she really doesn't want to, but I'm hoping she enjoys pedis and shopping! She already gravitates towards her babydolls and loves shopping with mom, so I'm hopeful!!

I was a huge tomboy and wore all of my older brother's handmedowns and loved it. But once I hit puberty and noticed all my friends were skinny and pretty, I immediately became aware how tomboyish I was and it made me very self-conscious. However, having an older brother and a father who was a carpenter, it was just natural for me to be more tomboyish than girly-girl.
For my toddlerDD, she's very tomboyish already and I love it! I have a feeling that babyDD will be more girly, though.

I think LO is already a tomboy. She loves playing in mud puddles and watches sports on tv. I was pretty much the true definition of a tomboy growing up and didnt start wearing make up or 'girly' clothes until university. However, I try and expose LO to lots of girly things as much as tomboy stuff. She can make her decision!

I think she is both, which I love but I did notice she started out more of a tomboy and is starting to lean to more girly in her twos.

Right now it doesn't matter to me. She's very athletic, would rather be outdoors in the mud than anywhere and loves sparkles and bows (we've started pinning bows on her papas clothes since she decided his clothes were too boring).
My only concern with girly girl is when she gets older if she starts doing stuff to attract attention from others instead of feeling confidant in herself. Right now though I know she's just pursuing her own interests and likes so I'm down for letting her explore the world. And sometimes the result is her dressing herself up in a pink sparkle explosion.
