I used to never wash pillows (for our bed) until DH mentioned washing them.
Now I wash them at least once a month. Makes sense that they can get nasty!

This sounds gross, but I only throw them into the dryer. I do use thick pillow protectors (underneath the pillow covers) and I wash those regularly.

@Crumbs: I do the same. I love feather pillows and I don't think they would wash all that well...so I throw them in the dryer on occasion and wash the pillow protectors that I have on them each time we wash our sheets (every 2 weeks).

Oh wow! I only wash about 2x a year because it takes about 2-3 cycles to dry them and it ends up being an all-day project with washing the duvet as well.

I wash before using and then have allergen/moisture proof covers that zip that I wash more regularly.
