I don't but have been thinking about wearing it.
If you work out, do you wear your wedding ring?

Nope. Gets in the way. Only when I've forgotten to take it off after work.
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
I sometimes take it off before I go on the weekend, especially if it's arm day. I will take it off before Crossfit, though, but I haven't gone in so long. But just the regular gym? Yes
blogger / pomegranate / 3201 posts
I usually never take it off for anything, but recently it's been bugging me, so I take it off at night, which means I always forget to put it back on the next day. Not wearing it today for that reason!

Yes. It doesn't get in my way at all, and I'm not comfortable leaving it in my locker at the gym.

I usually wear my wedding band but not my engagement ring. My husband does wear his, although he admits it is annoying when he is lifting. I think he would opt not to wear it if he felt like he "could" but he decided when we got married that once I put the ring on his finger during the wedding ceremony he was never taking it off. Like literally, it has not left his finger even once in over 3 years now. So he'd rather tough it out lifting than take it off. (I do make him slide it past his knuckle periodically to make sure he still COULD take it off if he needed to because I have this fear that it will like, grow into his finger or something lol)

I don't really work out at a gym...I run. So I always have my wedding ring on while running!
pomegranate / 3895 posts
Yes and no. Depends if I remember to take it off. It's fine for leg days, but really gets in the way for upper body. Pull ups + rings = no bueno.

I hardly ever wear my rings anywhere so I for sure wouldn't wear them to the gym. I'm just not a jewelry person.
My husband works out with his on though. He only takes his off in the shower.
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
Nope! I hate the feeling of jewelry sticking to me! Like in the summer, I'll take off my watch because it's sticking to me mid-day. Yuck.
bananas / 9229 posts
No since it gets all banged up when weight lifting. I always take it off.

I pretty much wear my engagement & wedding ring 24/7, only take them off when I'm lotioning my hands!
nectarine / 2765 posts
Depends, cycling class, yes. Kettlebell, boot camp & weight lifting classes, no.
watermelon / 14467 posts
I generally keep them (wedding and anniversary band) on unless it's a trail race. I don't want them getting lost in the woods! I don't wear my e-ring because it's too big.
grapefruit / 4442 posts
no. I take it off and if I have a necklace on I put it on my necklace or I leave it at home on gym days
pear / 1998 posts
Yep, I wear mine 24-7. I only take it off when I'm cooking and using my hands. My grandma wore it every day of her 60+ year marriage and it never had any problems, so I'm doing the same
That said, most of my workouts are in the pool - lap swimming, water aerobics, or water dumbbells.

I wear my ring and it doesn't bother me. It is a habit of mine to touch my thumb to my rings so it feels weird while I'm running to do that and not have it there. I'm doing a half Ironman in June and I'm considering not wearing it then-I'll worry about it in the lake swim!!
honeydew / 7504 posts
No. My hands swell up SO MUCH when I work out that it becomes really uncomfortable.
pomelo / 5509 posts
I always forget and then DH gets mad if I've been lifting with it on - he's paranoid about scratching! Whoops. I almost never take mine off...
persimmon / 1198 posts
Yes, when I go to the gym because it's usually right after work and I don't want to take them off and risk losing them or having them stolen. I didn't for the first several years, but once I started going after work it just made more sense! If I run outside I usually take them off before leaving the house.
persimmon / 1128 posts
If I'm going from home, no; if I'm going from work/other place, yes because I don't like to take them off. {Not because I'm uber sentimental, but mostly for fear of losing them.}
watermelon / 14206 posts
I never take mine off.
Well, except it's off right now, because I have the whole full-term finger swelling going on. But, as soon as it fits again, it's going back on!
persimmon / 1177 posts
I take mine off before I work out. It gets in the way if I'm lifting, and if I do cardio my fingers get puffy so it would be uncomfortable.
coconut / 8681 posts
I don't. I just leave it at home when I'm going to the gym and if I run it's first thing in the morning (I take my ring off for bed too). My fingers swell and it gets uncomfortable.
pineapple / 12053 posts
i do, but my fingers have gotten smaller so i have more room for swelling!
GOLD / coconut / 8266 posts
No...my fingers also swell up and they get uncomfortable to wear.
bananas / 9118 posts
Yes, but I usually only do the ellipticals and treadmills. I picked them out because they are so low profile. I only take my rings off for a few things- gardening, surgery, and large animal work.
