Yep. I don't know the brand, but they are soft ones.

i wear soft ones too, the brand is avaira...i used to use acuvue oasys but after 6 months, i suddenly became allergic to them. same thing happened to a friend, and my husband also got an ulcer on his eye from that brand, which was scary. i think it is the most popular brand but it just didn't work out for either of us.

I sell contact lenses for a living - ha! I call on Optometrists and explain the benefits of our lenses and then they hopefully fit them on their patients:) I sell the Air Optix brand lenses (which are monthly replacement lenses you can sleep in), and also the Dailies Aqua Comfort Plus (which are only worn for one day each, and I also wear the Dailies)...
I recommend the Dailies lenses to anyone seeking a change in contact lenses. They are the healthiest way to wear contacts, and it's so easy to just chunk them before going to sleep. In the morning, the first thing I do is pop my new clean lenses in. Even though I primarily sell monthly lenses, I could never go back to wearing them myself. Dailies is the way to go! It's just so...clean. And eyeballs are SO important! I like taking care of them so that they stick around a long time!

I wear air optic day and night. They were a healthier option for me. I am allergic to a lot of the cleaners/saline so the less I have to take things in and out the better. Plus once I started wearing them my eye doctor saw a 100% improvement in my eyes! My new doc couldn't even tell I was sleeping in them. They recently changed them though and the new ones do dry out little more then the older ones.
I wore hard in 6th grade and I would never voluntarly go back. They were a nightmare.

@April_Showers: That's my company - haha:) Glad you like them:)

I have the Bausch and Lomb dailies. But hardly ever wear them any more. Ever since moving to Nashville I've had a tough time with my contacts. There are a TON of allergens in the air here and even with dailies it's just not worth the discomfort.

I use Accuvue Oasis too...Mine are not the type you can sleep in and I use mine for a month before tossing them. But I only need them to drive and read text books and what not so I don't wear them daily....more like 4 times a week.

@jholler25: I was so glad when they finally hit the market! My old eye doctor could always tell I was lying about sleeping in my old ones. Speaking of contacts...I am almost out. Time to make an appointment,,

Yes, I have gas perms. I love them, I had to take a month off from wearing them due to a corneal scratch. So nice not to wear glasses all the time again!

@jholler25: I would love the dailies but my Dr. says my eyes are too bad! Darn it!

I have them but I hardly ever wear them. They're the Acuvue Oasis that you can wear at night (2 weeks, I think?). I usually take them out at night when I do use them.

yes. I can't wait til i'm done having babies so i can get lasik!

@chopsuey119: why do you have to wait? Can pregnancy change your vision??
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22646 posts
Yep, wanted to get lasik a few years back but DH insisted I wait since it's still "new" in terms of medical timelines... will def consider it once we're done having babies.

Yup! Been wearing gas perm ones since the 3rd grade. I like them a lot, just a PIA to take off if I accidentally doze off in them for an extended period of time.

Nope, I wore soft contacts for several years but developed an allergy to them so I had to stop. I wore glasses for a couple of years but had laser correction in 2005.

right now i'm wearing ProClear 1-Day lenses. can be costly but they're so convenient! just pop them in daily, no cleaning required.

I initially wore hard lenses for 8 years or so? I got sick of the irritation when I got something in my eye (felt like a rock every time!) and the redness by early afternoon (seriously, I looked high). So I asked about switching. For the most part, soft lenses have been better. I don't see entirely as well but I make do.

I wore soft contacts until I had Lasik in 2010-- awesome, awesome decision. I did have the night and day ones for a while, but then one eye doctor told me they weren't good and would do something to my cornea and I wouldn't be able to have Lasik later on. She actually was not very good at all-- the contacts I ended up with never fit right anyway-- but I took her seriously on that just in case. I had hard to fit eyes anyway.
As for LASIK and pregnancy-- they say to wait a year after surgery to get pregnant, because pregnancy can change your vision. My dr said really, you'd only need to wait something like 3-6 months but they say a year to be really careful. I knew I'd have well more than a year anyway.

I wear the Acuvue Oasys lenses. I use the ones you're supposed to keep in for a week, but I take them out every night because I have dry eyes. This way, I can extend them to two weeks. I've been doing this forever, my eye doctor recommended this.

I wear my glasses most of the time. If we're going out to a nice dinner or to an event, I'll wear my contacts. They're disposables.

I tried it for about a couple weeks and didn't like it. I'm near sighted and it was horrible when I used the computer. I couldn't get any work done.

I wore contacts for almost 17 years (since 7th grade)...I think the last brand I used was Acuvue Oasys...then I got Lasik and I love not dealing with contacts! I was so scared of it and put it off, but finally decided to go for it before TTC...my eyes are so bad and I didn't want to deal with contacts/glasses and getting up in the middle of the night with a baby.
