I had the first one since I was probably a teen this past year--I was having unrelated eye problems and when I went to get those checked out, the eye doctor had me to a regular eye checkup while I was there.

I still have 20/20 vision, but I'm getting older so I am kind of playing a game of chicken by not having vision insurance each year, and hoping to start getting insurance once I need it, haha.

I only have mine done every 5 years or so....if i want to get a pair of replacement glasses at work. They're just for reading and computer stress, and haven't changed in 15+ years. I just feel like it's a PITA to go, and i hate having my eyes dilated

I have never been to an eye doctor...in my defense my parents didn't take us to doctors growing up and I didn't have insurance until I was married, and then it just didn't seem like a big deal because I don't "feel" like I have any issues. This year I plan to finally go!

I can't even remember the last time. Middle school?? I'm 35 this week but my vision is fine (no glasses or contacts) so I figure why pay for the exam?

I had LASIK but I go every year still. My vision still isn't perfect though so I wear glasses for driving.
@lilteacherbee: with my vision insurance they cover the exam and then you can get glasses-even non prescription sunglasses- as part of your benefit after you have had LASIK. So I got coach sunglasses for very little since my insurance paid most of it.
