Today's my DH's 30th bday and it seems weird to write him a birthday wish on his wall when he's sitting right next to me and we are celebrating it together!! He's not a huge facebooker anyway. I don't want anyone to think I'm a bad wife though, lol!

Yes, but just a simple "Happy birthday, hon! I love you so much!"
... I do it mostly so that FB stops reminding me that it is someone's birthday, lol >_>

I don't. I don't write on anyones wall if I'm going to call them or see them in person.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
Yep, even though I tell him in person. It is his special day, even though he could care less, I want him to feel special.

No. I find it really strange when spouses write on each other's walls. Like they are clearly just doing it for show.

I used to, but the last two birthdays I decided not to. Living our life on FB is just not something we are interested in doing.

Nope! I always think it's weird when I see people post on their SO's walls.

I usually write something on my own wall. "Happy birthday to my wonderful hubby" and then tag him.

@MrsH: This is what I do and what I've seen most people do on FB. We are both avid Facebookers so it doesn't seem weird at all for both of us to acknowledge the other via FB, too.

hehe i do! it's the only time every year i write on his wall (he's not a big fb'er). it's usually just "happy birthday! <3", but i enjoy it!
pomegranate / 3003 posts
I'll usually just tag him in my status.
....that just sounded so lame

I don't. I don't post to him on any kind of social media. I'd rather just tell him. Most of my friends who talk to their SOs on Facebook seem like they're doing it to show off a "great" relationship in the public eye and it bothers me.
pomelo / 5000 posts
No. I've tried this once before, and it felt fake. @Running Elley: I agree! I have friends who will write "love you!" or all this praise on FB about their spouse, and it seems odd to me. We get it! You got married, so I'm pretty sure you love each other.
pomegranate / 3872 posts
Nope and we're both on FB often. It just seems so silly to me! We're together just about all day every day! Most likely we'd be sitting right next to each other while I posted it!

I think a status update saying happy birthday to you SO is ok, but I think it's weird when people write on their SO's Facebook wall. It makes me feel like they want to make sure other people know how great their relationship is (this goes for all posting, not just birthdays). It's like, just tell your SO how you feel about them in person, the world doesn't need to see that you put it on their FB wall...

I don't, and am another one who thinks posting to your SO is odd and seems showy. I know people don't always mean it that way though.
grapefruit / 4669 posts
Nope. If I'm close enough to someone to call/text/tell in person, I usually don't post on facebook as well.

@char54: It was my DH's 30th yesterday, too! And no, I didn't write on his facebook.
hostess / wonderful persimmon / 25556 posts
Nope. It drives me bonkers when people write ooey gooey messages on birthdays and anniversaries, too.
watermelon / 14467 posts
No, but I did put up a status update...it felt weird so I will probably skip it next year.
