I can never find button down shirts that fit. They always gap in the boob area. If I get a larger size, it fits me too big in the shoulders and arms. I love button down shirts, but it's impossible to find ones that fit well!
Do you have the same problem?

I gave up on button downs a while ago. I used to sew the seams shut in the gapping areas with a hidden stitch to avoid the gap and I'd have to pull them over my head.

Yep! I HATE button-down shirts. At one point before I was pregnant, I was able to wear them but that was a short-lived moment of time. Also at one point, Gap/BR started making shirts with their buttons strategically sewn in to avoid the annoying gap but that was years ago and I'm not sure they still make them.

YES! i've been busty since puberty, so i've never been able to wear them. i haven't worn a button-down since... i can't even remember.

I also have not been able to wear them since puberty. I'm jealous of women who can wear that sleek look with cute button blouses and tailored pants with some awesome heels, because I can definitely not rock that look.

I used to use a safety pin to keep it closed. I'd just weave the pin into both sides, but into the back layer of the front fabric piece so the pin didn't show. But since I got pg and the boobs grew, even that doesn't work.

Sadly, this has never been a problem. They make up a huge portion of my wardrobe. It's a trade-off, though, as most jackets/blazers look silly without something to fill them out.

I had this problem...found the perfect shirt (J Crew)....bought a whole bunch....got pregnant.....now my porno boobs don't fit. Hopefully I can wear them again post baby,

Try Rebecca & Drew button down shirts. They are made to fit your bra size and no longer gap in the front. They are pricy but you won't find a better button down. http://www.rebeccaanddrew.com/

I find the only shirts that don't do this to me are brooks brothers. Pricey but very high quality so worth it in my opinon. They have been fine for me while preggy but I'll let you know if they still work once I'm pp and breastfeeding....

Yes!!! I started using safety pins like @jumpingjacks but now with BFing I can't wear those shirts anymore. Now I wear looser button ups (e.g. Chambray shirts).

Yes! I also used to wear them partially unbuttoned with a tank underneath, but now I just don't buy them.

Yes, but I do safety pins like @Sammyfab and @Jumpingjacks. Eventually I may look into the more expensive shirtys, but for now I'm going with looser shirts to make breastfeeding easier anyway.

I like button down shirts and I also like shirt dresses. It's been a month after I stopped BFing do hopefully I can wear them again soon.

um. i have the chest of a fifth grader, so, no, i don't have this problem...;) i suppose it's one of the few perks of being small-chested! ha!
