Our eldest started doing it a year or two ago when he felt a little sick, and his younger sister quickly followed suit! When they have a temperature it's easy to just give real medicine, but they want it for coughs and sore throats too.
We finally started giving them elderberry syrup when they're just a little sick but have no temp. It's amazing how instantly they say they feel better! My son has a sore throat this morning and as soon as I gave him the elderberry syrup, he perked right up. The power of the placebo effect, I guess.
Do your kids beg for medicine when they're sick?
The kid seems to rather enjoy medications - he's recently started "treating" a toy frog for a cough with his dad's cough drops...
