Our son almost always wakes up with a smile on his face, and gives me a big hug! Not so with our daughter though: she's usually pretty unhappy about waking up. This morning she told me that it wasn't time to wake up yet, that she wanted to go back to sleep. Normally she just groans, so this counts as progress.

Xander usually wakes up in a good mood in the morning. Sometimes he'll cry, but as soon as you walk in his room, he's all smiles and just wants to play.
Waking up from his afternoon nap is hit or miss though. Sometimes he's happy to wake up and sometimes he's upset! I can't figure it out.

Yes, and it's so sweet. He's standing up in his crib and starts bouncing up and down and laughing when I come into the room.

Usually not until he has a cup of milk. Then he's 100% (usually). lol.

LO 1 wakes up happy when she gets up on her own schedule. She is a mess when DH wakes her up early on certain days.
LO 2 cries.

Hit or miss. Sometimes he wakes and I get a big smile a hello and a kiss. Other times he is grumpy and fussy.

Yes, as DH or I come to terms with waking up, he rolls around for a bit, talks to himself in his crib, and takes off his sleep sack - it's pretty fun to watch on the monitor. Today he was singing his ABCs for a little while.

It depends on the day. Usually she is very happy to see us, but sometimes (like today) when she didn't sleep well the night before she is super crabby.

Sometimes. She usually has grumpy face, warms up quickly, but there are days she cries from the second she's up to the second we drop her at daycare.

Yep, that is how I know she is up for the day vs it being a wakeup. She babbles to herself and laughs and when I come in the room she gets all excited and bounces up and down with her arms reaching for me - I love it! For middle-of-the-night or nap wakeups, she will cry out immediately.

Yes! He goes to bed at 9:30/10pm and wakes up at 7/7:30am happy as can be!
I don't get any 'me' time in the evenings but he's a really happy kid.

Yep! He plays in his bed for 20-30 mins before asking for me and is super happy. Until the whining and other issues begin
