mine have rooms right next to each other. I worry about one waking the other, but so far so good!

Not yet, but they will! When we have to transition K out of her crib for baby #3, I'm even going to have the girls share a bed. Should be interesting... I would love to hear more stories before it's my turn though

One of the reasons why I want another girl is because I want them to share a room. I think it'll be good for them. It would mean we'd have to take down a wall and make 2 rooms into 1. This is of course, IF she gets a sister

Yep, our twins share a room for overnight sleep. The noisemaker and deeper nighttime sleep make it totally doable. They do separate at naps, though!
I think a big part of it is that they've room shared since Day One, and we even sleep trained with them together. Sometimes I think their crying is each other's white noise!

They are in rooms next to each other and do wake each other up. Once they're a little older, I'd love to have them share for a few years.

That's the eventual plan. dD2 doesn't always sleep through though, so for now she's in an alcove off of our room separated from DD1's room with a glass French door, which is usually open. It doesn't do much for soundproofing, I am just leaving her there for now bc it's closer to our bed.

@edelweiss: DS was still getting up once a night to nurse when we started them in the room together. However DD sleeps very deeply so she never stirred when he woke. In the beginning their bedtimes were staggered with DD going to bed about half an hour after DS. DS too is a pretty deep sleeper so we never had much problem with them waking each other at night.

Like @twoofeverything: our twins share and have since day 1. I do think it's different since they've always shared and are used to each other, but they generally don't wake each other up unless there are other issues (already not sleeping well from illness, teething, etc). White noise is huge for us! I would get them used to sleeping with white noise now. If they are used to silence I don't think it could possibly work.

They share and it works pretty well! The only time it gets dicey is when my 4 yo doesn't want to go to bed, or wants to get out, or starts crying. My 2 yo doesn't wake up her brother but he wakes her up! We usually have to threaten consequences unless he hushes up. The worst that happened was once they were both screaming their heads off and I just couldn't take it so I let them both scream until they fell asleep, which took about 10 minutes.
