My mom saw the weather report in our area and texted me a reminder to keep LO warm told me to give her a down blanket.
She definitely thinks sleep sacks are odd!

They used to ask all the time if I've given LO a blanket yet. I have to tell them each time that his sleep sack keeps him warm.

IDK if my parents know what a sleep sack even is, but I don't think they would find it weird. When I was younger, my cousins and I all had to wear these quilted belly band kind of things to sleep to keep us warm in case we kicked off blankets. I still remember that fondly - it was some old-school Asian thing.

My brother almost strangled himself with a down blanket as a baby, so my mom understands that some kids just aren't safe with them.

my mom does, the inlaws don't though. Mil asked what lo needed for christmas, I asked if it was possible for them to get her a sleep sack and I explained what it was. She then went on a rant about how her children survived with blankets and many people did for years and years etc. No surprise that they didn't get lo a sleep sack.

My Mom thinks they are too restrictive, and for my LO she was right! His sleep stretched doubled in length when we switched him to a blanket instead.

My mom always pulled the "we gave you blankets" card. I gave LO a blanket to snuggle once, it was over her face, proved my point and thank god she is ok. I got her off my back on that one.

My mom thought it was really interesting. She didn't get at first why I wasn't using a blanket, but got it once I explained it to her.

We are still in swaddling blankets at this point and my father is horrified by the miracle blanket. He thinks it's a torture device! I'm sure sleep sacks will be a big improvement from his perspective!

My dad does.. my mom, not so much.
@Andrea: Same with my mom.. "but isn't she cold?"
@Bao: Yeah, my mom always says "but we used blankets with all of you". Uhh.. She also used to breastfeed us in bed and fall asleep with us while we were feeding.. I told my siblings that we should be grateful to be alive. Haha

My Mom is worried its too restrictive but he can stand and easily roll over in it. Plus I don't like the fleece footed pjs so the sack keeps him warm.
