When I worked in publishing, yes, all the time. Now that I'm a teacher, not really. We have a big holiday party, retirement party, and end of year party that are well attended and people tie one on.

Unofficial ones, but I never go. The women's group has them, and I would go, but they around HQ forty five minutes away.

Nope, occasionally there's a reception with alcohol to celebrate a major promotion or award but nothing regularly.

As far as I know, it's rare. We have an annual party but it's on the weekend. I wouldn't mind going once in awhile but I usually want to get home to my family!

Yep. Like 4-6 since I started in Jan! They are huge on socializing out of work. (It isn't a company-wide thing, just my team).

Every Friday at 4 in the cafeteria. Beer and food are provided. Used to even see people walking around with bottles of whiskey all afternoon. Then we had a cinco de mayo get a little too crazy and they scaled it back to just beer.

At least once a week for one thing or another! I usually go every couple weeks unless it's specifically for my team, in which case i try to attend every one that's for a "formal" occasion.

At my new job they don't seem to have a ton of company sponsored things but I was invited by one of my coworkers to a movie night tonight so it seems to be a sort of regular thing. I also am taking one class next quarter so it might be hard (with two very young kids!) but I'm going to try to be there at the next thing.

I worked in academic research and they had weekly research presentations where they provided beer.

All the time. They start at 4pm so it's not hard to have a drink and some apps and still make it home close to the normal time. Lots of people with kids so everybody really appreciates that.

At my old job we had unofficial ones all the time!
At my company now, never... Not that I'd really go anyway.

Not officially. My old manager sometimes suggest we have one, but never plans them for us. More often those of us that are friends plan them for ourselves and don't invite bosses.
