I know there's already a dressing vs stuffing debate, so I'm not even going to touch that.
My family did dressing growing up, but I've never particularly liked it. I also don't like the potential bacteria issues with actual stuffing stuffed inside a turkey (thanks Alton Brown!).
Over the years, I've tried both cornbread stuffing and stuffing with white bread, and I've felt really meh about both versions. My husband doesn't like it at all (he didn't grow up in the U.S.), and I can't get my kids to even try it. And yet, every year I make it anyway? ANd then end up throwing away so much.
Is there a magical recipe I'm missing that will make everyone like dressing? Or should I just skip it entirely?
What does your family do?
Hard pass on anything at Thanksgiving. In my circles it likely has something crunchy like celery or something unexpected like sausage.
