My husband ALWAYS has to go upstairs to change after he gets home. I don't know why, but it drives me batty. I don't just disappear for 10 minutes during prime getting ready for dinner time, but he can.

I used to change immediately when I got home too! Love comfy clothes!

We both change immediately - keeps the dry cleaning bill down and gets us both comfy

I change at work and leave my work clothes in my office. My co-workers all started it and I realized it keeps my work clothes a lot nicer + I feel more relaxed instantly when I head home in yoga pants and a hoodie!

Yes but only so my clothes stay clean - I usually wear work pants 5-6 times before I dry clean them!

Yes! I need to get the gross kid germs (well, kids that aren't mine) off of me.
But that takes me literally a minute or two. DH spends close to an hour in the bathroom when he gets home. Drives me nuts.

@psw27: wait-you change AT work?! I never thought to do that!
I change immediately! First thing to go-heels. Second-BRA!!! Ugh I hate that thing haha.

yep, both of us do. I get home about 90 minutes before DH, so I change and then play with DD, feed her, and start dinner. When DH gets home, DD and I hang out in our bedroom while DH changes. It's our ten-minute "catch up" time.

I change tops in the car, pants at home, and absolutely never wear my work shoes in the house. I don't want hospital germs on my LO!

Yeah @babyjmama - so if I go running after work, I walk to work in my running gear or if I'm just heading out with girlfriends I wear jeans in, etc. Sometimes I wear my work clothes in and out but its pretty rare. Then once a week I just bring home everything that needs dry cleaning, washing, etc. Its really changed my life! So on crappy weather days I don't commute (I walk in the city) in my nice work pants getting them all wet and icky.

Yes! I get home, put LO down, let dog outside, and go to my bedroom for my yoga pants and then start dinner. I wear skirt/dresses with nylons to work...no way I want to cook in those!
nectarine / 2280 posts
Yep! I practically start undressing in the vestibule. I have to force DH to change.

I'm an ICU nurse so I run upstairs to change as soon as I get home to get the germs off. I'm super careful to sneak upstairs without touching anything. Yuck!

My SO does; he's in business attire for work all day so it's part of his process of relaxing. My dress code was smart casual so I didn't have the same issue.

He changes out of his work clothes right away, I don't usually. He likes to try and hang up his pants if he can get another wear out of them. If they're ready for the laundry basket then he doesn't bother.

My husband always has to change! When I worked, I never changed, unless I was wearing something impractical.
nectarine / 2973 posts
We both do. We are always in comfy clothes at home. I just can't relax in my work clothes.

Sometimes D comes home and takes his pants within a step or two of being in the house. But he also wears cargo pants to work and can fit pajama bottoms under them....
He always changes right away, though, unless he happens to get home right as I'm putting E down, and then he'll come in to finish bedtime with me first. He rarely comes home during prime time, though, so it doesn't bother me.

Yes, but it only takes about 2 minutes. My work clothes and play clothes are totally separate wardrobes so not only is it more comfortable to change, but it saves me a ton of money on dry cleaning.

Hubby strips down the moment he steps foot in the door. It's rather impressive how quickly it all happens. I stay in my work clothes because there's always something to take care of immediately and change afterwards. Unless my clothes are dirty then I call dibs and tell the hubby to watch DS while I change.

yup! and since mr. bird leaves before me & comes home much later than i do, i'm pretty sure he thinks i live in pjs/sweats i've also been washing my face right when i get home to prevent myself from falling asleep without taking off my makeup. mr. bird likes to change when he gets home unless he puts comfy clothes on after he showers at the gym after work.

We both change to PJ's right before bedtime unless the outfit is just too uncomfortable so no we don't have to change right away.
pomelo / 5041 posts
Yep we both do. Usually out of work clothes into comfy sweats or something.
cantaloupe / 6751 posts
Yup, when I worked I had to change immed and so does DH. Can't stand being in business attire at home!

I don't change because I work in jeans. He usually cokes home and goes straight to the shower.

@psw27: Life changing! I need to try that out
I change into my yoga pants and a hoodie almost immediately, my work clothes are so uncomfy. My husband usually goes straight to a shower too.
