I wonder if it's related...
My family grew up on well water. My parents, brother and I have mouthfuls of cavities.

Always city water and I've never had any cavities. My brothers on the other hand had ton and I was the candy person as a child. Go figure!

We grew up in the country and had well water. None of my siblings nor I have cavities (there are 6 of us). I think it's genetics mostly. We just have strong teeth. We also all chew ice. None of us have ever had a root canal, caps, fillings, etc.

I grew up on well water, but didn't get any cavities until I was in college and stopped going to the dentist regularly!

I grew up with well water, and never had a cavity. Moved out when I was 18, and got my first cavity at 20 while living with city water. I probably have about 5 cavities at 28.

I've never had well water, always city water. Up until the end of college, I had one cavity ever, but when I graduated and went to the dentist he found several. The PH in my mouth apparently makes me extra prone to cavities or something, but to be perfectly fair, I probably had bad dental hygiene in college anyway-- going to bed after drinking and not brushing my teeth, never flossing. So I can't blame the water!
I also remember the dentist doing flouride treatments when we were little, like bubble gum flavored goop that you had to sit with in your mouth for a few minutes?

Well water and no cavities. None of my siblings had cavities either and we all ate plenty of candy growing up. But I've been on city water mainly since college and still none **knock on wood**

I grew up on city water and had tons of cavities as a kid. To the point I needed an extraction for some of them because the cavity got so bad that it cracked my tooth in half! I don't think my brother did though.

@Foodnerd81: YES--with those duck lip shaped things! I hated that as a kid.

Well water and lots of cavities. My brothers didn't have nearly as many (I don't even think my one brother has ever had one?)...my cavities as a child were believed to be from medications and constant illness though.

We always had city water, I only have one cavity/filling(?) right now. My sister on the other hand is the opposite, she has AWFUL teeth and just got done with round 1 (of 2) of getting MULTIPLE cavities filled... I think a lot of it just has to do with the person/dental habits.
